I don't think you are crazy. there is that chance it wears off, but I think that only happens to those who move there and go ALL the time. For you, you are talking those 5, 6, 7 trips a year. That's def. doable and fun.

As for the heat. I think you cannot win anywhere you go. I have lived in all over and I say, hay, thats what Air Conditioners are for. Just like up north and winters and heaters. It's all good.

I say go for it!!!

I am moving to Jacksonville, FL towards the end of the year. While Disney is not the main reason I am moving, it is a motivator. Jacksonville is just far enough away that I won't be able to just hop in my car and go for a few hours (it's just over 2 hours away) so hopefully the magic will still retain as I will still kind of have to plan for trips, but I'll be able to go more frequently. I'm just not a winter kind of gal and up here in Maine, we have SUPER cold snowy winters. I just felt this winter that I was sick of it and ready to move someplace warm. I am ALWAYS cold, even in the summer here so I always have a sweatshirt with me at all times, even in 80 degree weather. People go inside for a break from the heat and to cool off and think it's nice. I go inside for a break from the heat and within 5 minutes my hoodie is on and I've got goosebumps! I'm not made for cold weather!!

Jacksonville's not a bad little place to live - as long as you don't mind driving! We live in Middleburg, south and west of the city. My wife works all the way on the Southside, which is about a 25 mile/45 minute drive each way. It gets hot...but we only had two or three freezes this winter, and go to the beach in November and December, pretty much because we can (seriously, I was in the water on black Friday this year).

Our football team could be better (hopefully it will be...), but then my family was originally from Chicago...and we're Cubs fans - we know all about futility!
