I visited FLE as part of the passholder preview and I think your review is a good one. However, I must say that I was not underwhelmed because I was never especially excited about the project to begin with. The new area is excellently themed, and has a wonderful ambience, but is pretty much just one restaurant, one oversized or undersized (depending on your view) snack bar, one "C" ticket, and a well themed meet and greet that really is not interesting enough to be done more than once (imo). I think that if TDO would have decided on the Mine Coaster earlier in the process, and it opened with everything else the expansion would maybe be a bit more impressive.
