EXCELLENT TRIP REPORT NICKY!

I'm so glad you had a great time! Isn't Tinkerbell amazing... IN THE FIRWORKS SHOW, and THE PARADE OF DREAMS?!?!?

I CAN'T WAIT for WDW to update Tink's 'flight schedule' at our MK!

oh yeah, on a side note...

about mr. toad.... you only go to hell, if you play with goats... and as i read... you had just reason to go to hell.

Big Thunder: It was hard to tell with the differences in themeing and decor, but it seemed like pretty much the same track layout. Yes? No? (Yes, Donnie, I rode in the back seat)

As you should have. Back seat or bust. :p

Glad you saw Mr. Toad too, he's the best.

I got completely soaked on Splash, something I don't get at WDW's Splash. I was right in the front so that didn't help things, but I have been in the front too at WDW and haven't gotten drenched. I also thought there was less animatronics in DL's Splash.

Wow.. it sounds like you had a GREAT time. It definately doesn't help me seeing as how my trip is so soon! Hahaha. Anyways... wow.... I think Remember... Dreams Come True is turning out to be the biggest surprise of the celebration... I've heard only rave reviews about it. I can't wait to see it! Did you get to watch it from the Hub? :D

Yes! HUB HUB HUB! Get there WAY early though. The prime spots go very quickly. Make sure you can see both the castle and the Matterhorn from your spot. Try to get around where Casey's Corner would be.

I wanna go to Disneyland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't convince my parents that it would be worth the trip to California when we could be in Walt Disney World in 8.5 hrs.

Didn't like Aladdin?! *gasp*  Ah, well, more room in the theater for me! I'll admit, though, the cast you see for that show GREATLY affects the experience. I've seen some cast members that were downright awful, and some that were really fun.

And going to hell is the best part of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!

Yayyyy!! Thanks for the trip report Nick. I have to admit, if push came to shove, I would pick DL over MK. I just love the compactness of the park. It seems to concentrate the magic for me. Funny you mentioned the facade on Main Street with the rocking chairs. I love that!! Nothing like getting a Mickey ice cream bar and sitting on one of those chairs to relax.

And don't worry, you're not the only one who's gotten off Mr. Toad wondering, "Why did we end up in hell again??"

I said the exact same thing! Everything was so crammed together forcing them to use every possible inch of room to it's highest potential making everything seem much more thought out. The magic just seemed to exude from every nook and cranny.

I'm still sad you weren't able to come down and play though :(

I love the characters in DL. I think they are so superior to the ones in WDW. They have so much fun and play games with... and on people. When I went, they played charades, Simon says, and duck duck goose with people. I was with Peter and Wendy when they were hiding in the tunnel between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, jumping out and scaring the crap out of anyone who walked by. I remember seeing Alice chase old ladies with a water sprayer. And one time, I got a churro from a cart and right after me, Belle came and wanted to get a churro. And then there's the Princess storytellings, OMG, they are a riot! The characters are so much fun in Disneyland. It's not that hard to meet them either, I met tons of them. If you have a hard time with the crowd, try Fantasyland and Toontown in the early morning, they are empty and you can have the characters all to yourself. I remember meeting like a dozen characters, including 5 princesses, within an hour.

I saw those pics in your photoalbum! They look so fun. I wish I had run into those. Imagine playing duck duck goose and having Peter goose me! :D

That sounds great. I am so against standing in line to meet a character. It isn't spontaneous and isn't fun. Characters should be running amok in the park, and lots of good ole face characters that don't get extremely hot in a full body custome running around and interacting. That's what makes MGM so much more fun than other parks, characters wise, b/c the Streetmosphere roam and torment Guests in very creative, Disney ways. That is pure magic. Standing in line to greet a standing still character is not.

D-Land sounds fun, I tell ya!!

I agree with Vince. It seems to me that at DL the characters are given free reign to roam the park and have fun with guests. They sort of break that barrier of staying in one position and waiting in line to meet them. Seeing characters spontaneously throughout the park leading groups of people is really fun to see. I'll never forget Alice and company leading a game of musical chairs on Main Street. I could have watched that all day.

And yes, I too am sad I could not come down to play. :(

Awsome pics. Glad you had a good time. The Snow White Show looks awsome. Is it as good as it looked?
I thought it was wonderful! It's different than my favorite shows at WDW (Festival and Tarzan) in that it actually goes through the story, whereas those two are more of just a celebration of the music and mood. I loved the Snow White show. The set was awesome!

Thanks for the info. It'd be nice if they brought it to WDW

Well the verdict is in & my 13 yr old says DisneyLand is "okay". She does not like how everything is "smushed" together AND the lack of seats for the Fantasmic show. I told her she was spoiled.

BUT she loved Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and wanted to know why we didn't have one in WDW. I explained that she did in fact ride it years ago in WDW, but was obviously too young to remember it.

She also said she loved Indiana Jones, Soaring and the Matterhorn. Other than it being small she loved being the the "original mousehouse".
