My First Trip Report

Hello there  and thanks for looking in on my first trip report. Ok, first some details to set the trip up for you. There are four of us that went on the trip, my wife Marsha, my parents and me. Marsha and I are in our 30’s, Mom and Dad are in their 50’s. Our schedule was set up to take into account that Mom isn’t big on thrill rides, both Mom and I eat really plain foods, and we would spend some time doing different things than my parents. We’re from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, which is just across the boarder from Detroit, Michigan. The trip started December 26th and lasted to January 5th, still not long enough! Some things I learned that I can’t stand :hurl:, the weather, things on wheels, people who can’t follow directions and stupid questions, but more on those later. On with the report!

Day 1 – Thursday, December 26th

Marsha arrives home from work and we finish some last minute packing. We go to dinner at a local restaurant before hitting the road. We make our way through customs and are on I-75 heading south by 7:00 p.m. just as planned! :sohappy: Before midnight and we’re out of the snow and making our first stop for fuel at Lexington, Kentucky.

Day 2 – Friday, December 27th

Instead of traveling I-75 straight through to Florida, we decided to turn east at Knoxville, Tennessee. The route seamed to be shorter and had us go through North and South Carolina before entering Georgia which can take forever when traveling I-75! Second stop for fuel, 5:00 a.m. at Spartanburg, South Carolina. Next stop was for breakfast at Denny’s just outside Savannah, Georgia. Haven driven trough the night I was beat, Dad took over driving. We gassed up and were back on the road by 9:00 a.m. We were making great time and it looked like we were going to break our record of 16 hours. That was until we hit I-95 in Florida. We’re talking construction, heavy traffic and accidents all over the place. We finally reach I-4 and bam, more construction, traffic and accidents. At 2:00 p.m. we made our first stop in Orlando, the Disney Outlet Store inside Beltz Factory Outlet. This is where Disney closes out all of their merchandise from WDW. All of us stepped out of the minivan and shed our winter jackets and sweaters to enjoy the sunny afternoon. After some shopping we checked in to the Lake Buena Vista Comfort Inn just outside WDW near the Crossroads. Nice hotel, reasonably priced but very busy! To our surprise the T.V. included the WDW planning channel “zip pi di do da, tip for today!”. The hotel also provided complementary shuttle service directly to all four WDW parks, pretty cool. After a short nap :snore: while watching an NFL game at the same time, we got ready for dinner. We had priority seating reservations at 6:00 p.m. for the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary Resort. This was our first time to dine at the Steakhouse, and it was awesome. The steaks lived up to their billing, and those red, garlic, mashed potatoes, simply yummmmmy! :slurp: Dessert consisted of chocolate cake which had layers of strawberry jam in it, I didn’t care for it. :hurl: A Jewish family of about 12 people was seated next to us. Since they must eat kosher foods I’m still trying to figure out why they would eat at a steakhouse? Anyhow, the atmosphere was very nice, but the lighting was a bit dark. Always fun to watch the monorail trains whoosh by. As the ladies still hadn’t had their fill of shopping we were off to the Marketplace. No purchases this time, just scoping the place out for later in the week. We called it a night at about 10:00 p.m.

Day 3 – Saturday, December 28th

Marsha and I had planned on going to Blizzard Beach in the morning. We thought the timing was great as this was the last day that Blizzard Beach would be open before going down for its annual rehab. So, we thought we would get to visit both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon on the same trip; usually one of the two is closed when we visit. But alas, it was too cold to go swimming :( so we slept in. When we all got up, we decided to take Mom and Dad through Celebration (actual town built by Disney) as they had never been there. This included some more shopping while at Celebration. We then decided to go to the Animal Kingdom Lodge as none of us had been there before. Since we had no plans for lunch we thought we would give Boma’s a try, I read some good things about it so off we went. Unfortunately I forgot that Boma’s doesn’t serve Lunch! :hammer: So we walked around the Lodge anyways to check it out. Very nice, but as none of us are really into animals and we were really getting hungry, we didn’t stay very long. We decided to eat at TGI Fridays near our hotel. I have to say, when they tell you that they have hot chicken gumbo; you better believe that it’s spicy hot! We didn’t have any plans until dinner so we drove around WDW and then went for, yes more shopping! This time we were off to the Florida Mall. All I can say is busy, busy, busy! I can’t remember seeing the roads so busy in Orlando, or the mall for that matter. But a couple purchases and few hours later and were on our way to dinner. We had priority seating reservations for 6:00 p.m. at ‘Ohana in the Polynesian Resort. Marsha was the only one who had ever been to the Poly and that was when she was just a little kid. For those who don’t know, there is no menu here, everyone gets served the same things, and it’s all you can enjoy! The food again was awesome, and it kept coming and coming and you didn’t even have to ask for more. In fact, they almost get mad at you when you tell them that you can’t eats no more! :zipit: The desserts looked very tasty, but you’re so stuffed from dinner you can’t do it! We had a table with a great view of Cinderella’s castle. The lighting was a bit dark here as well but fit the atmosphere perfectly. One of the big complaints that I had heard was that the kids run all over the place. While there were lots of families (‘Ohana means family after all!), this was not the case. Every once in a while there would be activities for the kids which kept them occupied, it was very cute. There was a family sitting next to us and one of the children had special dietary needs. The server actually had the Head Chief come talk to the parents and the Chief made a special dish for the child, very cool. Oh, and I forgot to mention that this was mom’s birthday. The entertainer who was singing and keeping the kids occupied came over, presented Mom with a birthday cupcake, announced that it was my mom’s 16th birthday and sang happy birthday in Hawaiian and then the room sang happy birthday in English. Wait, the day isn’t over yet! Mom and Dad had never been to the Grand Floridian so we took a monorail ride. And what timing the piano player had the Christmas music going. The giant Christmas tree was in it usual location, as was the huge ginger bread house. We usual stop in for lunch at the Grand Floridian Café, but simply couldn’t fit it in the schedule, so this would be our only stop at the Grand Floridian. Then we were off to Downtown Disney. For my mom’s Christmas and Birthday present we bought her tickets to see the Cirque Du Soleil show at 9:00 p.m. that evening. My parents went to the show and we walked around, yup you guessed it, shopping! After the show let out, we returned to the hotel and called it a night. Wow, we sure did a lot in only two days and haven’t even been to a park yet! Next day, Epcot.

Still amazed Mr. Tom Morrow at how much you did accomplish in the MK and on NYE. Not an easy task. Look forward to the rest of your reports. :)

PS. I totally agree on the people watching. Sometimes that can be the funnest attraction at the parks. I can't image being at the Happiest Place on EARTH with the grumpiest person!

Day 7 – Wednesday, January 1st

Today was moving day, changing hotels to the All Star Music Resort. We slept in until 10:00 a.m., check out was 11. Once we checking out we drove over to the Wilderness Lodge for our priority lunch seating reservation at the Whispering Canyon Café. Since lunch wouldn’t be served until noon, we walked through the resort. This resort remains our favorite and would love to stay there again, but there are so many left on our list visit! Once the lunch bell rang were seated right away. The restaurant wasn’t very busy as lunch had just started which is the best time to go! We all ordered the all you can enjoy lunch. Marsha and I always stop for lunch here on every trip, Mom and Dad had never been before. I think that the all you can enjoy meal must be one of the best kept secrets around. Much like the dinner over at ‘Ohana, if you leave feeling hungry, you have only yourself to blame! You get BBQ ribs and chicken, sausage, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes, baked beans, corn bread and coleslaw. I have no idea what the desserts are like here, as we have always been to full from lunch to even look at the menu. The cast members here are great too; they all play the part just right, not over the top. Ok, time to check into the All Star Music Resort. We had never stayed at this resort before but knew what to expect as we had been down the street at All Star Movies many times. We arrived just after a bus load arrived from the airport so we had a bit of a wait, wish they had fast passes for check in! Hey, now there’s an idea! Anyhow, we ended up with a third floor room in the Rock & Roll building facing the court yard. The plan for the afternoon for Marsha and I was to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate again, way too cold to go into the water. Then again we were able to experience a Typhoon the night before! Say, I thought Disney was able to control everything inside the World? Can’t complain though, still much warmer than back home. Actually when we visited in January, 2000 it was so warm that we were swimming at the hotel pool at 11:00 p.m., now that was cool! So we settled into the room and watched a couple of the College Football Bowl games, which lead to some more sleep. We had dinner priority seating reservations at Boatwright’s, but since we were all still stuffed from lunch we skipped it. On tap for the evening was Pleasure Island. None of us are big drinkers so we kept to the west end of the island. We walked through the shops, visited the Adventurers Club, very funny stuff here, congledush! We also took in three of the five shows at the Comedy Warehouse, also very funny stuff. Now for those who have never been I know what you’re thinking, but what you need to know is that every show is different. The comedy here is strictly improve and the cast members are usually very good. After the second show, we decided to get some dinner over at Planet Hollywood. The food and atmosphere is the same as it is at all the rest of the Planet Hollywood’s. However, many of the house specialties had been eliminated which was disappointing as I usually get the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. At midnight we celebrated new years all over again for the second night in a row, only drier this time! And that brought our relaxing day to a close. Next day, Animal Kingdom and a return visit to Epcot.

Day 8 – Thursday, January 2nd

We were up early and on our way to Animal Kingdom. Breakfast was not needed as we, not surprisingly weren’t hungry yet! When were arrived the park it had just opened. There were a number of characters just inside the entrance just like at the other parks, but I noticed that it was much more crowed here. There really doesn’t seem to be enough room right at the front gate for the character meet and greet. We headed directly to Dinosaur and without much of a wait we were on the ride. Pet peeve alert! We noticed more and more people with the two way radios, which do serve a purpose. However, there was this man in front of us in line that was talking to his son on his radio. Apparently his son ran to the Kilimanjaro Safaris to get fast passes for the group and was on his way to Dinosaur. Nothing wrong with this plan either as long as the part of the group at the attraction waits outside at the stand by line. Instead the son cut through the line to catch up to Dad. Actually I noticed a lot of people cutting in lines to catch up with their groups the whole trip. I find this very inconsiderate of others, why doesn’t the rest of the group let everyone else pass until the lost person catches up with the group? Sorry bout that, I feel much better now. We walked over to Chester and Hester’s to check out the new area. Marsha, Dad and I rode Primeval Whirl. Disney was very smart in installing two coasters side by side (like space mountain) to handle more people at one time. I also noted that the cars on this coaster never actually stop which was kind of cool and very smart too. The coaster itself is pretty tame, your standard, run of the mill mad mouse but with spinning cars, a very family oriented coaster. We then grabbed a fast pass for It’s Tough to be a Bug and headed for Kilimanjaro Safaris. We had a 20 minute wait and lucked out as just about all the animals were out in view. Then we were on our way back to Discovery Island. We were a bit early for It’s Tough to be a Bug so we did a little shopping and visited the Story Behind the Magic area, got all the questions correct again. Back to It’s Tough to be a Bug, love the 3D shows. I was able to get a great picture of Marsha with her bug eyes on. At this point we had seen everything that we wanted to see at Animal Kingdom. We usually do go see the Festival of the Lion King show, but decided to just skip it this trip. As I mentioned before we’re not really animal people so there really isn’t much else here for us to do. Don’t get me wrong, Animal Kingdom is by far the most elaborate and best themed of all the parks (well, second only to Busch Gardens Williamsburg). So we get back into the car and drove over to the Beach Club Resort. We walked over to the Yacht Club Resort gazebo to have our picture taken; it’s where we got married. We then took a boat ride over to the International Entrance at Epcot.

By this time we were getting hungry so we headed to Italy. Our priority seating reservations at L’Originale Alfredo Di Roma wasn’t for another hour but we were seated right away. We had all been to this restaurant before, it has become a favorite. Early lunch is the best time to go, as with all the world showcase restaurants this one gets very busy later on. I swear the pasta is made fresh, placed on your plate and served to your table hot. And the desserts here are top notice also, especially the chocolate mousse. We then walked to Future World taking in Ellen’s Energy Adventure at Universe of Energy (Dad’s Favorite) and Cranium Command at Wonders of Life. Test Track had a two and a half hour wait and the fast passes were already closed for the day. So, we moved along taking in Spaceship Earth, and then had Mom and Dad find our Leave a Legacy tiles. Next up was Food Rocks and Living with the Land at The Land (10 minute wait), Journey into your Imagination with Figment, and Honey I Shrunk the Audience at Imagination. Then we went back to World Showcase and rode El Rio Del Tiempo at Mexico and then Maelstrom (30 minute wait) at Norway. We were then closing in on our priority seating dinner reservations at Cape May Café at the Beach Club, but once again no one was hungry yet so we skipped dinner. We watched the Tapestry of Dreams Parade and then made our way to The American Adventure. We had a short 10 minute wait for the next show. When we got to the theater there was a couple that stopped and took the first two seats, right on the end of the row. Now this was a new one! Usually they stop right in the middle of the theater but never at the first seats in the row. I kind of laughed to myself, if they really wanted the end of the row, they could go all the way across like their suppose to do and still get the end seats! But I digress! It was getting close to Illuminations time (because G.E. brings good things to life, in just 10 minutes….) so we found a nice spot by France. This is still a great show, but I think it might be a bit shorter than the last time we saw it. We then decided to have another go around at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. When we finished dinner and dessert we headed back to our room and called it a night. For those keeping score we missed several attractions at Animal Kingdom by choice. Only two attractions remain unseen at Epcot, Impressions de France and O Canada. Next day, Magic Kingdom.

Day 9 – Friday, January 3rd

This would be our last full day at home (WDW). Marsha and I were on our own today. We were up early as we had priority seating reservations for breakfast at The Crystal Palace inside the Magic Kingdom. The weather man was calling for a sunny afternoon and a high in the low 60’s, so I dressed in shorts. This is important to know for later! We took the Disney bus to the Magic Kingdom. Our reservation was for an hour before the park was scheduled to open but when we arrived, the gates were already open. We usually have a breakfast at Chief Mickey’s at the Contemporary but decided to give this one a try. The setting here is much more formal than at Chief Mickey’s and lacked a certain family atmosphere. The characters here (Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore) moved around the restaurant on a set pattern while Pooh remained at the centre of the restaurant. This is much different than at Chief Mickey’s where you see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale all over the place and often. In terms of food, it’s pretty much the same at both breakfasts. Some of the interior looked warn down which was very surprising as the Crystal Palace just came out of rehab the week before we arrived. After breakfast we walked down Main Street to find the barber shop, I needed a hair cut. But there was already a line, couldn’t believe it so we decided to stop by again later. We then headed for Tomorrowland and got a fast pass for Space Mountain. We then rode Tomorrowland Transit (WED Way), Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (short wait), Time Keeper and Carousel of Progress. It was then time to use our Space Mountain fast pass. After riding Space Mountain we stopped at Geiger’s counter to get Mickey Mouse Club ears for nephews and nieces, but realized we had never gotten ourselves a set, we couldn’t have that! We then walked through Fantasyland which was really busy so we kept going on to Liberty Square. There was a short line for the Haunted Mansion so we went inside. Then we walked on to Frontierland, picked up a fast pass for Big Thunder Mountain and walked back to Splash Mountain. We had a 20 minute wait for Splash Mountain. We noticed that there is a lot of themeing that requires rehab at Splash Mountain. There are a couple of signs with Briar Rabbit that have been torn away; you can see that the sign is made of styrofoam. It was then time to use our fast pass so back to Big Thunder Mountain, the wildest ride in the wilderness!

We then went to see the country Bear Jamboree (short wait), the Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management (short wait), Pirates of the Caribbean (10 minute wait) and Jungle Cruise (10 minute wait). We then walked back down Main Street to the barber shop. On our way we actually heard someone ask a cast member what time the 3:00 Share a Dream Parade was going to take place. I should also mention that it was just before 3:00 p.m. and the parade crowd had begun to show up along Main Street. I have no idea how the cast member answered with a straight face. I wanted to know what Disney put in what ever she had for lunch! When we got to the barber shop there was a line up again so we headed for Tony’s Town Square. Our priority seating reservations weren’t for a few hours but we decided to eat and then figure out what we wanted to do for the rest of the day. Unfortunately dinner didn’t begin until 4:30 p.m. so we had to wait. So we watched the tail end of the Share a Dream Parade and then did some shopping on Main Street. At 4:30 p.m. we were seated right away. We both ordered spaghetti and meat balls which were delivered to our table in like five minutes. The restaurant was very nice, lots of Lady and the Tramp pictures and one very nice fountain inside the room. The spaghetti was average at best, definitely not worth the cost and no where near the quality of Mama Melrose’s or Alfrado’s. You do however get the biggest meat ball you’ll ever receive with your meal. Following dinner we sat on a bench on Main Street in front of the Train Station and watched people. Actually, I wasn’t ready to leave the Magic Kingdom yet; I have a really hard time leaving parks when I know its getting close to going home time. Many of the characters were out again around the hub. After sitting and trying to decide what we wanted to do with the rest of the day, we noticed that it was getting really cold out. So, we decided to go back to Epcot so that we could see the statute at Italy and Illuminations again. So we hopped on the monorail and transferred to the Epcot monorail, when we realized that this was the first time we rode the Epcot monorail all trip which we usually do a few times each trip.

When we arrived at Epcot we went directly to Spaceship Earth and rode it one more time. Then we headed to Imagination to see Figment one more time. And then to Mouse Gears to buy the Epcot ’82 t-shirt. Does anyone else know why The Living Seas logo is on the shirt? I know that The Living Seas was not an original pavilion; I believe it opened in 1984. The only thing I can come up with is that they had the logo displayed in advance of the pavilion but I can’t remember. We then made our way around World Showcase stopping at Italy to watch the moving statue. I know this doesn’t sound like much but if you get the chance to see it, do so, you will be happy you did. It was now getting really really cold out, it’s a good thing I have a lot of fur on my legs! So to get in away from the cold we watched Impressions de France. This is a very comfortable theater to sit and rest at as the day wares on! We decided to get a chocolate crepe, (yum, yum) we were in France after all! There was still some time before Illuminations was to begin but it was really cold so we decided to get our shopping completed at Downtown Disney. So we walked to the Beach Club Resort and took the Disney bus to Downtown Disney. Our first stop was the back part of the Art of Disney store. We had picked up a cart full of post cards, car accessories and colouring books. When we went to check out we presented our Disney Club card and found out that as of January 1st the only store that accepts the Disney Club is the World of Disney store. We were a bit disappointed, but the cast member was great and offered to put our items back on the floor for us. So, to the other end of the Marketplace we went. We picked up the post cards, car accessories, colouring books, snow globes and monorail accessories. Then we stopped at Team Mickey’s Athletic Club for a Mickey’s Sorcerers Football Jersey for me, the Disney at Home store for a Mickey Mouse lamp and finally Once Upon a Toy for Disney Monopoly, Disney Candyland and Disney Mr. Potato Head. We loaded all our purchased on the Disney bus and headed back to the resort. Hats off to Disney transportation, I don’t think we waited more than five minutes at anytime for any transportation the whole time we were there. We then had to decide what we were going to do the next day. The original plan was to take advantage of the Magic Morning at the Studios meaning a 6:00 a.m. start. We decided that we wanted to ride only three attractions so we would sleep in. Ok, so what did we miss at Magic Kingdom, Alien Encounter, Indy, Astro Orbitor, Fantasyland, Magic Carpets and the Tree House. At Epcot we only missed O Canada and since that’s where we’re from and we had seen it last year, not a big loss for us. Next day, Studios and leave for the great white north.

Wow, I wish I could get in all that in one trip. I did notice that once you have been at Disney long, it is hard to do Bfast, Lunch and Dinner all in the same day. We tend to skip that last meal too, being that Disney gives way too large of portions, even for lunch. Can't wait to hear the ending and sorry you are having to leave.

Part Six - The Conclusion

Day 10 – Saturday, January 4th

Today was our final day at WDW meaning we also had a 16 hour drive home overnight. So we slept in until 10:00 a.m. Mom and Dad were going to meet us for lunch at the Studios, but already seen everything they wanted to, so it didn’t make much sense to use a whole day ticket just for lunch. Marsha and I took the Disney bus to the Studios arriving at about 11:30 a.m. We headed directly to the Tower of Terror and picked up a fast pass with a return time of 2:30 p.m. The stand by line listed a wait time of 30 minutes so we walked over to Rock N Roller Coaster which had a 90 minute wait time. We really wanted to ride Tower a few times anyways to experience as many of the new ride sequences as possible. We returned to the Tower stand by line and to our surprise we only waited 20 minutes to ride. We decided to get in the stand by line again, this time the wait was closer to 30 minutes. The exciting thing about the second ride was that we got to experience the sequence where you think the ride is all done but then get shot all the way back to the top of the tower. It was now closing in on our priority seating reservations for the 50’s Prime Time Café. Before heading over for lunch we stopped by Rock N Roller Coaster to pick up a fast pass for after lunch. Lunch in mom’s kitchen was wonderful as always. Cousin Mandy was great, played the part perfectly, not over the top. One of the cast members in the next room was however, we were wondering if he actual served anything or just kept punishing everyone for one thing or another. There were five tables in our area with two families from Ontario, one from Michigan and one from Ohio, with us also being from Ontario, what are the odds of that happening? After lunch, which I didn’t finish my veggies, Mandy was nice enough to let me have dessert. I ordered Dad’s Super Sunday, this thing is huge, but I finished it.

Following lunch we made our way over to Star Tours and waited in the stand by line, we had a 25 minute wait. We then walked back over to Tower to use our fast pass for our third ride of the day on Tower. Can you tell this is our favorite ride at the Studios? We then moved on to Rock N Roller Coaster to use our fast pass. The stand by line was now down to 60 minutes, still a longer wait than Tower which we found really surprising. We would have loved to ride Rock N Roller Coaster again but just didn’t have the time to do it. So we walked to the front of the park to make one last sweep through the stores. Pet peeve alert! For those who use strollers, baby buggies, wheel chairs or motorized scooters in the parks, please don’t use them as battering rams! We know that they are a necessity and are sometimes hard to maneuver, but they really hurt when you keep running into the back of our ankles. Thank you! We were meeting Mom and Dad at the ESPN Club for dinner before we hit the road home. Remembering how crowded it was on Sunday we thought we should get there early incase it was busy for the NFL playoff game. So Marsha dragged me out of the Studios at about 4:30 p.m., have some great pictures of me making some really sad faces at the exit. We took a couple pictures in front of the giant Stitch that was set up by the resort transportation area then headed for the friendship boats. We made it over to ESPN Club shortly after 5:00 p.m. to find that Mom and Dad already had a table. We had our Dingers and Hockey Pucks one last time before leaving, but stayed for most of the game. We were supposed to be on the road by 8:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. we decided to visit the Disney Clearance Warehouse at Beltz again hoping to cash in on the 2002 ears to you merchandise. During the day Mom and Dad went shopping at one of the many flea markets and found the same Mickey lamp that we purchased in Downtown Disney but at like half the price. So we had to go, which meant that we would have to return to WDW and I wasn’t going to complain about that! When we got to the flea market to purchase the lamp, they also had this great Mickey wall clock that we just had to have. Then it was back to Downtown Disney to return the lamp. Well by 10:30 p.m. we were on I-4 heading east towards the Florida turnpike. Two and a half hours later we were entering Georgia on I-75 going north.

Day 11 – Sunday, January 5th

We stopped only three times for fuel, once in Georgia, Tennessee and Ohio. We made it home in exactly 16 hours, from Downtown Disney to Downtown Windsor, Ontario. Almost turned around in Kentucky when we began to see snow, burrrrr.

Well that’s my trip report. I’ve already started to work on Marsha to try and start planning our next one! Someday we’ll be able to own a winter home there to visit whenever we want but for the mean time we’ll have to get our Disney fixes in small doses. We might be returning in November, 2002 for a family wedding taking place in the Orlando area. And we’re planning on a family vacation to Scotland in May, 2004 which would mean a side drip to Disneyland Paris. We’ve also been dieing to take another Disney Cruise, but a 7 day cruise this time. So many choices so little time and even less money! Well I hope you’ve enjoyed my little report. I hope someone out there can answer the few questions I had throughout the report. Thanks to all those nice comments, I’ve enjoying providing the details to you. Anyone out there like to know more, just let me know. Thank you.

This is a picture of all of us who went on the WDW vacation from Dec. 28 to January 4. From Left to right: My friend Troy, his wife Tammy, my sons girlfriend Robin, her 20 month old daughter Kyra, My son Jeremy, my mom Marian, My brother Darthdarrel, and our friend Troy's daughter Heather. You could probably tell by the looks on our faces that we were hungry and tired.

Nice Pic

Hi Mikey, very nice pic of your family. You may want to move it to your own trip report so that people don’t get confused and think that you are me! You'll also have a lot of fun retelling your story.

Thanks for the great report!!!:D I have been having WDW withdraw. We were last there in June '02 and won't be returning until Nov. It made me feel like I was there with you, and my heart was heavy as I was reading about your last day:( I don't ever want to leave either. Thanks again for brightening my day:sohappy:

Hi Mikey

I’ve never moved anything either. But you could remove the post here in this thread by selecting edit at the post and select deleat. Then, simply start your own new thread with your trip report. People love reading about trips, helps with the WDW withdrawal!

DVC Membership

Hi Mikedvcmember

My wife and I have looked a DVC membership a couple times. While there are still resorts that we would love to stay at such as Boardwalk, Beach & Yacht Club, Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge, a stay at these resorts is not a regular thing for us, but more like a treat. To be cost effective, we would have to visit at least once a year (something that we try to do!) and stay at a mid level resort or higher. Since we don’t spend much time at the resort that we stay in, other than to sleep, we just can’t see spending the money to stay anywhere else other than the All Star’s or Pop Century when it opens. Now, should we be fortunate to not have to worry about price at some point in our future (like winning the lottery!), we’ll sign up the very next day, believe me!

Pic, finally

Here we are in front of the christmas tree inside the Grand Floridian. Mom and Dad on the left, Marsha and I on the right.

Just as soon as I figure out how to shrink the pic so that it will be accepted.
