My First PRE Trip Report

I have been so inspired since joining this site by so many people that just love to GO HOME! A quick note about myself; I am married with two boys(21,20) and a girl(15). Our first trip was 2006. We wanted to wait to go for our first time because we didn't want to be dealing with the stroller scene. This picture is from our first trip on the 4th day in 2006. We entered MGM(yep still MGM which I still call it) and we were going to slow it down as we hit it real hard for the first three days. A CM asked if we had some time to meet someone or were in a hurry. We weren't so we followed her to the greeting center. SO GLAD WE DID. Our first trip and we got a one on one meeting with MICKEY. We couldn't get the smile off our faces for hours. Obviously this was our Christmas card for that year.

We had received a text a few hours ago to say our room was ready. We were ready to go back and take a little breather. Tonight's plan is extra hours at HS. We had to ask a CM to help us find our cottage. It was crazy to even think this, but they pointed us in the right direction and we found it. It was so beautiful.

Our friends surprised us with a bottle of champagne and chocolates!!

Double wide whirlpool tub. I'm not going to say anything else:)

Off to HS. Our favorite park during the day. I love the Citizens of Hollywood! Tonight, it's all about the rides!
Night pictures aren't the greatest on my phone.

We rode ToT and RRC a couple of times!!! Love ToT at night. When the doors open and you see the lit up water tower with EARS and the all the lights. Just can't beat it!

Didn't do Toy Story as it was a 60 minute wait. We have FP for tomorrow, so no reason to wait. We strolled around the park for a bit more, but the early morning was catching up with us. We headed back to the Big River Grill to end the night with an IPA! What a great start to our trip. We enjoyed ourselves so much as well as everyone we came in contact with. Day 1 in the books. WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We start off Day 2 by grabbing some coffee at the Boardwalk Bakery. Of course I can't resist taking the picture of the Yacht Club.

upload_2013-12-4_16-54-10.jpeg

We then strolled up the walking path to HS. We love walking along the water. The main reason we love to stay at Epcot resorts. Two parks to walk to.
upload_2013-12-4_16-56-14.jpeg

We had our FP reservations on our magic bands for TOT, RnRC and Toy Story. So off we went!
This is such a favorite sites. It is our favorite ride. Can't get enough.
upload_2013-12-4_16-58-49.jpeg

This isn't too bad either!

After RnRC we had some time before Toy Story FP. We love to hang out around Sunset and watch the Citizens of Hollywood. We are huge fans of Paige Turner and Jack Diamond. Unfortunately Jack wasn't there that week, but we did see Paige. I was in a show our first trip to Disney and it was with Paige, and the "Director" was Alberto Dante. Well, as it happened we ran into him and I told him how much we loved that show. He was great. I know some people think it is too "corny" but I love the simplicity!

Onto Toy Story. Such a fun ride. We had a FP and walked right through to the CM inside. He saw our anniversary pins and said Happy Anniversary and took us directly to the car. NO WAIT AT TOY STORY!!!!

We then went to Animation Studio. It is something we bypassed unknowingly in our previous trips. Wow were we sorry we missed it. We got pictures with Sorcerer Mickey, Watched Animation studio artist explain drawing a and creating Disney characters and took a drawing class from an animator and drew Eeyore. My DW is an artist and loved this. I actually think her picture was better than the animators. Maybe I'm bias.

As I said this was a "kidult" vacation. Our afternoon was winding down, so our next stop was The Brown Derby for a drink before we head back to our resort to get ready for our special anniversary dinner at The California Grill.

We showered and got ourselves ready for "our" night. We have never got dressed up at Disney. We are always there with our kids and it is always really laid back, but this was our 25th and we wanted to make it special. The CG was amazing. Is it overpriced, maybe but the atmosphere was amazing. We enjoyed our dinner and our server, Saad was outstanding. We spent most of the rest of our evening just enjoying the ambiance and watching the Wishes. Was different, but I would much rather be in the park.

My view during dinner! The caste, not the couple. LOL

Day 3 and we are off to the opening at MK. Again, maybe corny to some but I absolutely love it. I have the biggest smile on my face when it is over and maybe a tear too.
upload_2013-12-4_17-34-59.jpeg

After the opening we wanted to go to the Poly for Tonga Toast. We never had it, but heard so much about it. We did the QS. Wow, so glad we did! It did not disappoint! We have never stayed at the Poly, but is on our list of places we want to stay. I love water. It is so relaxing.

Since there were no kids on this trip, we decided to visit the GF. Resort hoping is not something the kids want to do, so it was our chance to take a look. Quite the spectacle.
upload_2013-12-4_17-41-42.jpeg

Now it was back to MK. Took the train to FL. Wanted to see all the new stuff. DW wanted to go on the Little Mermaid. No offense everyone, but I think I found a challenger to Small World as the ride I least want to go on. I was amazed by the construction going on. Very impressive.
upload_2013-12-4_17-46-27.jpeg

Also caught a peek at Woody and Jessie

We continued our stroll around MK. I guess the pictures speak for themselves. I was happy to get a picture on Splash just before the drop. This is truly a magical place.

After TL we strolled back over to get a spot for the parade. We got a spot for the parade near Casey's. Now I have to tell you, we wore our anniversary pins all the time and it was great. And then there were these guys.
upload_2013-12-4_18-10-29.jpeg

They spotted the pin and decided I express my love for my DW and help sing a song to her. A couple video'd this for us on my DW phone, which I will not share with you. In all seriousness it was another magical moment at our favorite place. I will do just about anything when I'm asked in Disney, of course I never thought I would be asked to sing. I will save you the pain and comedy relief.
And of course the parade was great.

After the parade it was adult time. We hopped on the monorail to Epcot and strolled to England for a pint. We sat and people watched. It was the least intense day we have ever spent in Disney. We strolled back to Germany and had a quick service of Brats and beer. We spent that evening at the resort relaxing. We did head back for our favorite fireworks show Illuminations!! It was a great end to a very relaxing day!

Day 4. The first time we have ever left the parks. We are heading to Universal. We couldn't have picked a better day. Michelle Obama was in the area for Veterans recognition and the security was everywhere and the travel we were told was going to be slow. We grabbed a cab and got out early. No problems. I'm not posting too many pictures of Universal as this is not the forum for that, but DW really wanted to see the Harry Potter area. It was very impressive. She loved the ride, which she did three times. Me on the other hand didn't make out so well. If the ride would have been one more minute I think I would have been hugging the trash can like I saw a few others. LOL.

upload_2013-12-10_16-17-17.jpeg

It was a long day for me as my body was really beat up from that ride. Universal is more of a high intensity park. Many extreme coasters and it limited what I could do. I'm glad we did it this once because Hogwarts was absolutely worth seeing

We left Universal late that afternoon and headed back for dinner. We ate at the Big River Grille. We each had steaks and they were very delicious. Not the greatest service we have ever had, but the food and beer were very good.
upload_2013-12-10_16-23-13.jpeg

We didn't have a park pass for this day, so we headed to the ESPN zone to watch Thursday night football. As usual we met some great people and sat and talked for a few hours, never watching the game which we knew would happen. I think that is what we love as much as anything is the friendliness of people in Disney.
Took this picture for my son, who is a Yankee fan. A bit dark.

Day 5. It is our last day. Wow do 5 days go fast. This is our shortest trip ever and it felt like it. We took our bags and checked out. Such a horrible feeling. We are never ready to leave. We have always done 7 days. I can't imagine being here for two weeks. I look forward to doing that some year. Off we go to AK. A park we love so much. We just love the beauty and serenity of this place. Also we are usually here the last week of Nov or the first week of Dec., which means Christmas everything. We saw some decorations, but no music, no trees until here!!

I love Christamas time in Disney.
upload_2013-12-10_16-35-15.jpeg

We had a FP waiting for EE so it was there we were headed. Such a fun ride. I know people are disappointed the Yeti is not what it used to be, but it still a fun ride. We had the last car, which is so much fun!

After the safari we had a FP for Festival of the Lion King. Our favorite show by far. Last trip we sat it the elephant section and my family dimed me out toand I was selected to do the elephant sound. I have been doing that for the kids since they were born. Of course it was fun, it's Disney! This is such an entertaining show.
