I've never been evacuated off a Disney ride either.
I kind of wish I would.

I have been evacuated from a ride ONCE.
This was in June 2012 and me and my mom were doing Space Mountain, and apparently we had FastPasses for it. So while we were waiting to get on, we heard this announcement:
Lights came on as well! After a couple minutes, we were all directed out of the stand-by line and we did get Fastpasses on our way out.

I was walked out of Haunted Mansion with the lights on. The ride stopped at Madame Leota. If you're a true fan of the Mansion you DON'T want to see the ride with the lights on. Last summer I was evacuated out of Great Movie Ride in the gangster scene. We went through a themed door that you really don't notice in the ride into a long hallway and we exited basically across from TSM.

My first evac was in Disneyland. I'd been to WDW so many times before that and never been evac'ed, but on mt first trip to DL, I got evac'ed. It was Pinnochio. They had us walk through the part of the ride through which we had just ridden.
Since then at WDW, I've had a couple of evacs. Once on Mission: Space. Ride stopped before the end. It was then that I realized I'm not okay with small spaces I can't get out of. My younger brother, who has autism, was calmer than me. Another time was on Soarin'. We heard a very loud thud and the glider lurched. We dropped to the ground and were let off 20 minutes later. This past trip, we were on TofT, when it was about to end, and were stuck about four feet from the ground. Being in pitch black and not knowing what was going on and just hoping the safety features on the ride worked was slightly terrifying. We were taken off 20 minutes later and then sent up an elevator to ride again. Getting essentially two rides was worth it.

Through expert use of lighting they hide an awful lot. If you saw it with the lights on it would ruin the "magic" of the ride for you.

I'm not an HM fan. Least favorite "classic" MK ride. I just wanna see how it all works (my primary reason for riding is attempting to figure out how it works.

I got stuck on Splash Mountain one time for like 45min right in the place where Brer Bear is stuck in the hole. So for that whole time I was just looking at his butt. LOL! We got like 3 Fast Passes a piece for it or something like that. Pretty cool.

Along with our elderly mothers, we were evacuated off the Goofy coaster a few years ago. The train stopped just short of the load/unload station. Within minutes there was a swarm of mechanics, supervisors, etc standing around to watch the CMs help us walk that 15' or so of grass. Our moms thought it was terribly exciting. LOL

In more than 100 trips to WDW, I've never been evac'ed off a ride. I've been stopped a handful of times for 10-15 minutes, but never evac'ed. On the other hand, I had annual passes to Universal for a few years a while back and was evac'ed off Cat in the Hat twice, the Mummy, and best of all Jurassic Falls just before the drop. On Jurassic Park, after it was apparent the ride had gone haywire we sat in the boat for 30 minutes waiting to get pulled off. After about 15 minutes a kid that was about 12 had a panic attack & started screaming. The parents were trying desperately to calm him down, but nothing worked. We then had a walk down 6 flights of stairs to get out.

I too was evacuated from the TTA, and around the same spot you were actually (I was at the part right before you go into the tunnel to go to Space Mountain. Was pretty cool, but it was cooler when I saw the lights on Space Mountain as I rode by on the TTA.

I have been evacuated from Splash, too. Had I been at that same point, I would have been like the woman freaking out. I don't blame her.

I thought the same thing, too, about the floor! I was also surprised how high up we were. We sat for a long time in the dark with the car just bumping around (but not moving forward). They finally turned on the lights and came for us with a ladder.
We were evac-ed off of Pooh twice. Once as soon as the ride started and the other time just as we were heading into the thunderstorm. We walked through the rest of the ride. Funny, you would think that since we saw how they make the magic it would be ruined for us, but it wasn't. Guess we have too much pixie dust in our veins. Still awesome.

Reedy Creek Fire Department would be called in to transport non-ambulatory guests off a broken attraction.
