My Expansion of Mainstreet idea!

Well heres my idea this would be a major expansion or anything but we all know mainstreet has side streets with dead ends right? Well maybe if we could expand one of those side streets you could possibly open up some new shops or whatever and maybe place some type of new ride as the end, or maybe a show!!! I think bringing back that magic shop would be a cool idea to place in mainstreet side street too! If you want submit your ideas with me as well!

Good idea, however where you are talking about, the one side street left, has backstage things right there. There's no way they could make it into a shop. I do wish they could do that though!

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! If this sort of thing interests you, why don't you submit ideas like these to WDWMagic's Imagineer forum. I have posted there numerous times myself, and have been in the ongoing process of creating a proposal for a new Disney theme park resort on the Imagineer forum. I'm sure many people here have seen/heard/read about this already! :animwink:

Ummm.....rides on Main Street? I don't think so.

I think that you've ignored one important factor....I doubt that there's a lot of room on the other sides of the shops. You have Tomorrowland on one side and Adventureland on the other.

The other thing...it's Main Street USA....not the Downtown of Small Town America.

Sounds a lot like Liberty Street and Edison Square, original concepts created by Walt for Disneyland. Edison Square was an idea that eventually became Carousel of Progress. (Originally it would be a ring of buildings, the stages would be static, the audience would stand (think Stitch's pre-show) and you'd walk from one theater to the next through automated doors.)
Off-hand I forget what was supposed to be in Liberty Street. I know Jim Hill has talked about these two planned expansions in past articles.

The map is from the mid-to-late 50's (The 1959 expansion isn't on the map. The yellow X's on the map are the symbol for "Future Developments")
