My Disney Vacation Advice? Florida

Ok guys so im planning a trip September 28-October8 to be in Florida. I have been planning on going to Walt Disney World And probably do the Universal Studios as well. I was planning like 6 or 7 days in Orlando and then going to the beach for 2 or 3 days. My problem is since im only going to the beach for 3 days i want to make sure i go to the best place i can. Ive been thinking somewere around Tampa,Siesta Key beach, or somewere on the atlantic side. I was thinking key west but the drive is to unrealistic for my time period so i dont wanna travel more then 2 1/2 hrs away from the parks any ideas or destinations i should put into consideration, also im coming from Louisville ,Ky which is 13 hrs from orlando,fl. Thanks i plan on being on here everyday until my vacation as im extra excited

You have time to hit each of the six parks for a day AND go to Key West. Yeah, KW is a drive, but you guys are young. You should go. Lay on the beach, get a pic at The Southernmost Point, go to the sunset party.

Everyone should go to KW at least once. And IMO, it's good to do when you're young. :)

The only beach I ever go to is by KSC, because I have a friend who lives there. It's nothing I'd recommend, really. No help here.

The only beach hotel I want to try (but haven't) is the Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville one in Pensacola.

Yeah i really want to go to key west but i am not sure if im going to have enough time were leaving on the 27th at night and arriving in florida on the 28th and we have to be back in louisville,ky on the 9th becasue work the next day. Also the 30% discount starts on the 30th so we would have to drive straight to key west then hit disney on the way back . Idk im confused and over whelmed and wanna make sure i have enough extra money after putting food and gas etc. in to the picture.

If you want beaches save the trip and don't come to the Keys. There are barely any beaches in the Keys. I know it sounds weird but it's true. For the most part the islands are extinct coral. Now if you want to fish then come down. We have some of the best fishing in the world. Miami is fine if you want beaches but you can hit the Gulf coast and there are nice beaches too.

I guess the main reason i wanted to go to the keys is becasue of the over seas highway and its being just a complete different enviroment. I didnt pla on swimming in the water or anything but mainly just taking in the views of the ocean and walking on the beach and looking for shells.
