My "Be Nice To Cast Members" T Shirt Experiment

Hey all! Ex-CM here. In my role, I had the opportunity to train new CM's in my role and I loved it. I realized that developing CM's is my passion. I went to MK yesterday to try and get on Tron (got on it, loved it) and I wore this shirt. I had a couple guests say they loved it (probably CM's as guests) and several working CM's say they loved it. I'm wearing it to basically create awareness that CM's are people too. If I turn even 1 CM's day around and remind them that some guests are on their side, then it's worth it.

One family in the line for the Peoplemover really surprised me. They turned around and said "We love your shirt, Cast Members aren't treated well." I thanked them and didn't say anything to them afterwards. They were ahead of me getting on the ride, and some sort of altercation happened to the Load CM and the lady ended up yelling "RUDE!" to the CM, then talked sternly to the next CM on the turntable, who just apologized and said "if it was for your safety then she did it for a reason." After the ride she went to the Attraction Greeter and complained to her, waving hands and acting crazy. This was the same family who said they think Cast are treated badly. So strange. Anywho, I'll continue to wear the shirt, maybe it'll turn some CM's day around.

*Moderators, feel free to move

**My role was in Guest Relations at Studios for nearly 4 years. I saw it all.**

Great idea. If it makes just some guests think of how they treat CM’s it will be worth doing. Unfortunately the rude, obnoxious guests won’t be changed by a t shirt message and CM’s will continue taking the cra* they throw. We’ve always appreciated CM’s, their work and how they add so much enjoyment to our trips. One of the reasons we come back.

^ No, I got a boarding group (121), but I didn't know if I was going to get one at the 1pm drop, just because when I worked at DHS, the Rise boarding groups went out in seconds, so I didn't know if I was going to be quick enough. Plus I wasn't sure if I could stay in the park for so long because my wife was at home with my daughter, so I wasn't sure if I could stay out too late. Luckily they went shopping so I could stay in the park until my group was called.

There is a FB group for DCP parents and they sell shirts that read, "Be nice to cast members. They might be my daughter/son." My daughter was accepted into the DCP in 2020 but her program got cancelled. I was going to buy one of those shirts if her program wasn't cancelled.
