My APC surge protector worked great!

Just a recommendation; my computer, router, modem, printer, and scanner were all subjected to 235 volts, and survived intact, thanks to my surge protector. However, it lost its life in the process, and was literally fried. Along with my TV and sound system, which were on a different outlet which did not have a surge protector. (since I have a whole house surge protector to guard from outside problems.)

So, I'm insisting the electrician replace it with the same brand, and I'll add another for the TV, etc.

Glad it was OK, though.:)

They are nice....when they work.

What happened to spike you household current to 235 and it not get picked up by your whole house surge suppressor?

Basically, I was having a whole new breaker panel installed. Somehow, the outlets in my family room & part of my kitchen got the electricity meant for my dryer (also in the same room, but with it's own circuit and breaker) and oven.

When they turned the power back on, things went crazy! As in smokin'. Lights popping and buzzing, the TV turned itself on before burning up.

The whole house protector doesn't protect against crossed wires within the house.

They have replaced the TV and surge protector. I have to contact the manufacturer to get my oven fixed; it has the correct power, and the inside light works, but the programming died. No cookies for anyone!
