The first restaurant I went to was in the Yacht Club and I believe it was called the Yacht Club Galley. Im not sure if that is the correct name and nore do I care because the food was not good at all. I went with a large group and 5 people had to send their main courses back. I had the clam chowder which was ok and my steak sandwich was also nothing special. On to the two great restaurants that I experienced.
On Sunday night I visited Chefs de France. Let me tell you that this restaurant was truly a surprise. My girlfriend and I sat down about 15-20 mins after my adr. This wasnt a problem since we both enjoyed some drinks while waiting. After sitting down we were greated by our waiter who was not only a great waiter but made some great small talk with us through out our meal. My gf enjoyed her champagne drinks while I drank a couple french beers which were quite good. For starters I had the onion soup and she had the lobster bisque. They came out about 3 minutes after I ordered. Both items were very very good. Now I have had a little better onion soup at some other places but this was one of the best lobster bisques that I have ever tried. After the soups we enjoyed our main courses. I orders the braised lamb and she ordered the filet. My lamb was very good. It was served over beans (I do not remember what type) and petite onion bulbs. Her steak was also very tasty and was served with mashed potatoes. For dessert we both shared the creme brulee. It was probably the best that I have tasted. I also got some espresso and she got some coffee which were both good as well. The final bill was pricey, over $120 with tip, but I am someone who doesnt mind paying for good food. Everything we had was great, from the drinks to the dessert, but the one thing that botherd me was the lack of table clothes relative to the price of the food. I am in the restaurant business as well is my whole family and we often correlate the price of food and type of restaurant with table clothes. I know, sounds weird, but this is what many restaurant owners and critiques do. Obviously you can charge whatever you want at Disney no matter what and most of the time people will go. Like I mentioned earlier the food was great and I didnt mind paying the price for it because it was worth it.
The last place I visited worth reviewing was Boma for the breakfast buffet. First Id like to say that the Lodge was amazing, I had never been. The buffet was excellent. I enjoyed some coffee and some "jungle juice" as our waiter called it. They had many of the usuals and two african inspired dishes that I actually didnt end up trying because I was so full before I rememberd them. They had a wide variety or pastries, buns, breads, fruits, and cereals (hot or cold). It also consisted of pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs, omlets, bacon, potatoes, and sausage. They also had a carving station consisting of corned beef and ham. I enjoyed the eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, pancakes, and potatoes. The potatoes were nicely roasted and the bacon was just how I like it. The carved ham and corned beef were also very good. I really enjoyed the Boma mustard that went with it as well. All in all Id have to say it was worth the $17 and I would come back on my next trips.
