My family and I will be in WDW November 18-29. I am wondering if anyone can help me decide wether or not to bring my family to the Very Merry Christmas Party. It does look like loads of fun, but we are on a tight budget, is it worth the extra money. Their are five of us so I'm looking at about $200.00 extra dollars to attend..:veryconfu

If you are on a tight budget, then 'No'.
You can see most of the same stuff during normal park hours.

If you haven't seen it before and money is not a high priority, then go see it.

Good luck.

We did this once. It was fun, but as RiversideBunny said it is not a must do. Really, would you rather have a few more hours in the park or money for souvineers or a special meal? We did this in mid-Dec. and it was crowded. Thankfully we switched nights at the last minute without penalty or problem and we were glad we did. Because we thought the night we did go was crowded, but the night we were originally set to go ended up being sold out!
If you decide NOT to do it then skip MK that entire day.

As the other posters said above.. if your on a tight budget.. I would recommend skipping it. But if it was me.. I probably would skip MK for the day, and go the party instead. Because less waits on the line.. :). But that is your choice! Also, you can't miss the snowing on main street!

What type of park tickets did you buy or are you planning on buying. If you were getting the hopper option, you could skip that, stay in one park each day and the money saved would help cover the cost of the tickets for MVMCP. I would wait and see if they still had tickets available when you get there..for two reasons..one you can decide if you really want to do this and two..if the party gets sold out it is crowded. We thought we would have shorter wait lines for rides and the parade viewing easier etc. We thought WRONG! Lines were not shorter..similar to the evening EMH or even longer. It was fun, a neat experience, but we wouldn't go out of our way to do it again any time soon.

If your budget is extremely tight, I'd say no. Put the money to use in getting either the park hopper option or the water park & more option on your tickets instead.

On the other hand, if you were planning on four nice dinners, for example, while in WDW, skip one of the dinners and do the VMCP instead, if it is not sold out. The previous poster noted that when sold out, the VMCP lines can be pretty bad. I went last year right after Thanksgiving (the Sunday following Thanksgiving, I believe), and crowds were light. I brought my parents and in-laws along with my wife, my son and I. We loved it. For my in-laws, that was there one day in the parks (they don't enjoy the crowds and the walking so much) and it was money well spent.

The parade, fireworks, character greeting opportunities, and other little special things really do make it a nice thing to do.

While I have really enjoyed MVMCP when I've gone, love the parade, fireworks and special presentations around the park, I don't consider it a must do. There is so much holiday magic around the parks...Epcot is wonderful, especially Candlelight processional (that can be experienced for free!), Osborne lights (with snow) in Studios. you will have a great time in any case.

Wait a second, it snows on main street!?

Im in the same boat as the OP. Never been, but considering buying the tickets. Its only two of us so it wouldnt be too much money as much money as others would have to shell out...

We went last year for the first time . I would say skip a nice meal and go! Best holiday fireworks ever. And tons of stuff to do.

And yes it does snow on main street!:xmas:
