MVMCP worth it?

Ok, I know I'm early, but I'm in the process of planning our November 2016 WDW trip, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to attend MVMCP. We went to MNSSHP this year, we enjoyed it but I have to say I was a bit disappointed... We enjoyed dressing up, trick or treating and the parade, but didn't feel like it was worth the money (I travel with DH and DS 4 years old). We are curious to see what MVMCP is like, I'm more of a Christmas than Halloween fan, and we might not go back during this time of year for a while since my son is starting school. What do you guys think? Did you ever attend MVMCP, and what did you enjoy about it? Would you recommend trying it at least once?

It is worth it if you don't waist a ticket on one of the parks and go at 4pm. Relax at your resort or go to Disney Springs in the morning. We went to the water park in the morning and then to the party.

I suppose it depends on the length of your stay. In my case, we'd only be "saving" the $15 difference per person between a 6-day ticket and a 7-day ticket. Deducting that from the party ticket costs, we're still spending an additional $60-$65 per person to attend the party.

I apologize if my post implied that it was frivolous or irresponsibly extravagant to spend money on MVMCP, and I hope it won't make you hesitate in doing it, if it's something you want to do. I was trying to illustrate the "real world" value of the cost and the reason why we've decided it's not worth it for us, but naturally, there are many intangibles that make the cost "worth it" to thousands of families every year. If it's something you can and want to do, by all means (to paraphrase "Parks and Recreation"), treat yo' self!

You don't have to apologize, your post was helpful, helps put things in perspective! Although I'm still tempted... I guess I will wait to see if the exchange rate with canadian dollars gets better...

I like both parties. But if you were disappointed by MNSSHP, I think you'll be more disappointed by MVMCP. I don't mean to say that the parties aren't good. Just that I think that MNSSHP is better (costumes--well, last year anyway, who knows whether even allowed this year?, trick or treating, Boo To You Parade, etc.). MVMCP is similar but with sugar cookies and cocoa given out instead of candy, Christmas parade, and Holiday Wishes. If you want to try at least once, then go for it.
