MVMCP - Cast Member Discount?

Last year while staying at GF we were considering going to MVMCP. When I called the concierge regarding info, the cast member said resort guests could get tickets the day of the event at the cast member discount. I spoke with someone later at the front desk that was not aware of such an offer. We ended up deciding not to go, so I did not pursue further. This year we are going on December and my mom has her heart set on going. My question is: is there typically a cast member discount for day of the event for resort guests (risking the event sells out) or should I just buy online to ensure we get the tickets for the night we want? :shrug:

To the best of my knowledge, if you are a Cast Member, you can purchase tickets to the party at Company D up to and including the date of the party, as long as it doesn't sell out and as long as it is one of the nights where a Cast Discount is offered. If you are not a Cast Member, then you are required to pay the full day-of price.

That makes sense - we were there in November. The CM I spoke with said it was not an advertised special, and only available certain dates - maybe it was something specific to last year. Either way, I guess it's best to purchase in advance and not disappoint my mom!

Are you a Cast Member? If you are, you might be able to try to make arrangements with Company D in advance of your arrival.

No...but I did just spend a few minutes browsing the employment opportunities (I guess that doesn't count! :lookaroun) I was staying at GF last year and the concierge said it was a day of discount for resort guests for select nights. I was just curious if this was a standard thing or just happened to coincide with out visit. I guess the latter - I'm just going to purchase thru the Disney website. Thanks all for your help@@

There is never a discount for non-cast members at "hard ticket events". Even cast members aren't guaranteed a discount at every event. All guests are required to pay full price. Disney is very strict about its ticket prices. They don't just randomly discount park admission tickets, so I would expect to pay full price.
