This will be our first time going to the MVMCP. Do people dress in holiday attire for this? Should I pack some Christmas-y dresses for my girls? Thanks!Holly

A lot of people wore holiday shirts and EVERYONE had mickey ear santa hats on - myself included! - or the even sillier blinking tree hats you can also get in the park.

Two years ago I saw someone with a strand of mini xmas lights wrapped around themselves and that was really amusing.

Most people are more subtle about it but nearly everyone wore a santa hat or similar. :xmas:

As with all parties, the more you and your family "get into" the whole theme, the more fun you will definitely have!

Strnagely enough, when I went to the Christmas Party the first time, it was so cold we HAD to wear gloves and hats! That made the hot chocolate and snow effects even more magical!

HAVE FUN!

When I took my girls when they were younger I had them dress in christmas attire. Little kids look so cute dressed like this. It's nice for the christmas picture. Just keep in mind that it will be very warm and you will want them to be comfortable.

Thanks so much... we have never travelled this late in the year so really don't know what to expect weather wise. We will be in our warm winter woolies when we leave Michigan... that's for sure! I'll have to do some thinking on what to pack... with the holiday events in mind! Thanks again!Holly

They actually wear holiday shirts, hats, etc. at anytime during the month to the party. Disney also sells shirts each year for the party at the MK.

Yep. My family went immediately into the Emporium and bought the red long-sleeve MVMCP shirts and put them on. They looked great in the freebie pic.

We wore our holiday shirts, from pervious years and I wore my Mickey Santa hat.

Weather - it can be iffy at that time of the year. We usually go early December and have encounter "need to buy a sweatshirt" weather.

Holly, if you are coming from Michigan, its kind of like late September/October weather. Warm durning the day, cooler at night. We always take sweatshirts and wear t-shirts, long pants.

Yes, wear a cute Christmas sweatshirt for the party!!! You'll also find some cute hats for sale and you will want to buy one. In fact, my son bought one our first day there and he wore it every night to keep warm!

PS... your name is Highland Holly. Are you from Highland?

I always wear any one of my many Holiday Disney shirts, Santa Stitch hat and if it's not too warm at the time, a scarf and gloves. :) Gotta get into the whole spirit especially for the snow!

Most everyone seems to be wearing holiday attire. I have seen little girls in Christmas dresses. It might end up being really COLD, so watch the Weather Channel before you get there. Both times I've been there in December, it's been wickedly cold (hats, scarves, gloves).

December stinks because you have to pack for 2 trips, a summer trip and a winter trip. We had to upgrade cars and it COST A LOT MORE THAT DAY when we arrived because of our luggage.

We'll be dressed in holiday attire and I intend to decorate our wheelchairs this year as well.

How cute! You'll have to post pics! Hey, you could try to find some battery operated Christmas lights and decorate the chairs like the light parade!

So very true! We packed for our Dec. trip expecting both warm and cool weather. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't just cool at night, it was downright cold. So, we had to do some winter clothing shopping while we were there.
