Hey guys,
Been a while. I think the time is ripe for a another murder mystery, though.
As before,
Here's how the game works:
The characters are at the voted upon location for fun, a party, just by chance, whatever the person running it decides. They all interact with each other, like any group of people would. All this takes place out in the open. Now, let's take three players: A, B and C.
Player A - Killer
Player B - Victim
Player C - Detective
Player A sends a PM to Player B and the person running things saying that Player B is dead.
The person running things, the Game Master(GM) if you will, posts in whatever style they have chosen and reveals to all the players remaining that Player B has just been killed and this is the clue that was left behind.
Anyone is welcome to give their theories in the open about who they think killed Player B, but only Player C as Detective can do anything about it.
If Player C thinks that Player A has committed the crime then a PM is sent by Player C to both Player A and the GM saying that he/she accuses Player A of committing the murder of Player B.
Since this would be correct, the announcement is made that Player A has been successfully arrested.
But, if Player C instead arrested someone else entirely, then it would be annouced that an arrest was made, but that further examination of the evidence has shown that it was a false arrest.
Detectives get two false arrests and then the group as a whole can vote to replace them. Remember though, the new detectives you elect could very well be the killers. The identity of the person falsely accused remains anonymous in order to keep it difficult for the killer(s) to narrow down who is a detective.
