This also means it is very likely the Indiana Jones stunt show is going to be axed at some point in the near future due to Indy in Animal Kingdom for whatever tenuous reason that may be. Not as sure about the princess attractions though, despite Magic Kingdom being a thing, given the princesses are far higher tier in Disney’s eyes than Indy/Muppets/etc.

I’m getting the feeling the only reason they’d axe any princess rides/shows is for Marvel, and even then…
I think Indy is safe for a while. Next Studios investment should be Animation Courtyard, and that's only after they wrap up a bunch of other projects elsewhere

To be fair it is a stunt show which is difficult to run; I could see them leaving a hole for a bit where the show used to be (Starcade, Primeval Whirl) rather than having a pronto replacement if push comes to shove. Primeval Whirl for example was left as a hole for a bit until they started production on the replacement for the entire land; ESS could meet the same fate. To be fair, Primeval Whirl was a generic, non-IP ride, while Indy is based on an IP that hasn’t done well since before the 2000s.

I like how they at least tried to make a compromise in this case (MV3D has significance as Henson’s final work, which is why it will also be sad when we inevitably lose ESS), unlike with many other cases like Rivers of America for example. Given Aerosmith is an outside IP, Disney might be wanting to move away from external IP in the parks; Tower of Terror might be getting a retheme at some point in the near future; away from The Twilight Zone (owned by Paramount).

Hi, I've been reading for here for a bit but finally decided to make an account (this was the breaking point for when I wanted to get involved in the conversation) This is probably the first time in a while that a closure hurts for me. This is obviously not the worst case scenario but Muppet*Vision needs to be preserved FULLY in some way. It doesn't even need to be on Disney property. Give it to a museum for all I care but simply releasing it on Disney+ wont do

Same can be said for every themepark show that is gone. Captain EO and T23D are classics. They should all be on 3D bluray.

In Disneyland they just have the EO theater empty since covid.

I wrote an email to Bob Iger, and everyone else here should too. If they move the show from its current location, there's just no way it can be exactly the same. As others have said, without the preshow and all the gags in that room, without the animatronics interacting with the film and a live Sweetums coming out to complement the bubbles falling from the ceiling and the theater walls turning into burned out, hole filled, smoke billowing spots, you don't truly have MuppetVision 3D (and temporarily known as 4D for the some of the reasons I mentioned in this post).

Don't move what has become a memorial to Jim Henson and one of his proudest achievements, put Sully and Mike elsewhere!
I think accepting it's going away is the best thing to do. Bob Iger doesn't even make these decisions at the end of the day.

The show going away doesn't take away from Jim Henson's history or legacy and it's amazing it had such a long run. In California we had Muppetvision removed a long time ago. Our Bugs Life show was also taken out for a bad spiderman shooter ride. Seems no one cares about preserving these 3D shows.

if they axed indy stunt show, i could see them retheming star tours and that surrounding area and creating something else with that entire area....maybe marvel city themed?

I’m betting either Marvel or AniDom as the new area; Marvel would be a bigger area than AniDom, but still.
