Muppett 4D Leaving?

The Henson family previously bought back the rights to the Henson and Muppett name from the Disney Company, stating that they were unhappy with the way the Disney company had handeled the Muppett franchise.

Does this mean that we'll lose Muppett 4D??

From what I understand, Disney only has exclusive marketing for the Muppets and Jim Henson for three things (more if the contract went forward).

-MuppetVision 4D
-Meet & Greet/ Parade
-Jim Henson Creature Shop on the Backlot Tour

What about the Disney Muppet movies? Or where you only including Theme Park aspects?

Theme park aspects. I don't think Disney made and released a Muppet movie, though Henson might have created and then released it through Disney.

Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island are Disney movies somehow.

I thought that Henson was unhappy with the company he bought it back from. Could just be me.

I don't think it will affect the attraction at the Studios, it'd be tantamount to suicide in terms of marketing. Think of how many people see the Muppets each day there. I make it a point to get there every time I visit. Sadly, I don't always make it. :(

Oh, and Statler and Waldorf rule!

Muppet*Vision 4D is a great attraction, I don't think I could go to Disney-MGM Studios and not see it...

BTW [thread drift] I had a dream about the Muppets last night (no kidding! :)) and basically, they were riding these little toy cars around a building or something, so, they were trying to drive their cars away from me.. but I was able to corner one, right, so I picked it up and I saw the underside of the car was in fact, just a remote-controlled car, right?, and my family had a bunch of remotes and they were controlling the Muppets... but the funny thing was, the Muppets didn't just move around in a car, they actually talked and moved around inside the little car.. So, I found out the the Muppets weren't real, in my dream last night...
:(

The Henson Family bought the company back from a german consortium that had been running it into the ground...if they close Muppet 4D I'll

Why would the Hensons be "unhappy with the way the Disney company had handeled the Muppett franchise"? I mean I know not much of anything has happened in the parks reguarding the muppets since Muppetvision opened, but I thought it was because the Hensons were holding a grudge against disney and not letting them use the characters. Hey, its not Disney's fault their company has gone down the tubes. I guess they could take their characters to someone "better" like Six Flags or Knotts, who could turn the beloved muppets into beloved fair rides!

Just think of all the great stuff Disney could build if the companies would just get a life.

The Muppets current exposure IS Disney. Why take it away from the only success that they have had lately? If not for Disney I would have forgotten..

I didn't really care for Muppet Vision 4D.
I saw it once, and never went to it again. It lacked a Disney quality to it I felt.

Actually to me the muppets and Disney just mix like oil and water -- I like them both, just not together.

Disney never owned the Muppets. At one point Jim Henson and Disney had an agreement to use the muppets thus the movies and the attraction. Henson never sold Muppets to Disney.

Personally, I think the muppets and disney gel together quite nicely, especially in this next millenium "Pirates of the Caribbean" disney world we all live in, in which Disney is realizing that in order to expand it's fan base, it has to occansionally do some things that are a little more, well, muppet-like. Appeal to some more adult audiences while still making a product that kids can still greatly enjoy, which is what the muppets have always done, and what Walt always did. And now that Disney is starting to realize how they screwed things up and became a little kids company, they must know things need to turn around. Muppet Vision 3-D is a great attraction, and it has aged very well, heck, it hasn't aged at all, even after seeing it many times, it's still hilarious, exciting, and loads of fun, and i'd say that's all thanks to a man a lot like walt, a dreamer who knew exactly how to enertain. Jim Henson wanted the muppets to lie with Disney, and now that Jim's kids have bought back the muppets from EMTV, I'm sure they still remember how their dad wanted the muppet legacy to live on, and they know they won't always be in charge. They won't ruin things with Disney, they know if the muppets have to live with a big company, it should be the company Jim Henson wanted it to be.

Or maybe I'm wrong, I just know I love the muppets.

I agree with you on the Jim and Walt being similar thing. And this may be why I do not like the two together. To me, instead of complimenting each other, they distract from one another.

Two strong personalities behind the characters and style. To me they should stay separate.

I admire both men and thier accomplishments very much.
