Is there anyone out there that can tell me anything about the Muppets future with Disney. I know they now have the rights to them, I heard about a Muppets movie ride that has been planned since the early 90's, but it never got built. Now on Jim Hill, and other sites the ride idea keeps poping up. I love the Muppets, and it would be a dream come true if this ride really happens. Anyone with any info please let me know.

Thanks so much

Hello...

Not sure what's going on in the near future for the Muppets but I'm sure you know about "Muppet Wizard of Oz" scheduled to be broadcast on ABC this Spring.

Kermit and Miss Piggy were the hosts at Disneyland for the broadcast of "Walt Disney World's Christmas Parade" and were much livelier than Regis and Kelly in Florida!

Also, www.muppets.com recently had a nice update a few months ago. According to one article I read the design of the Muppets Studios was based on Imagineering plans for a Muppets section of Disney-MGM studios. Also, a good fansite for Muppets is www.muppetcentral.com

I'm hoping that some good Muppet stuff happens with Disney's acquisition of the characters. I attended the Jim Henson Festival at Brooklyn Academy of Music in early December and there were video crews there taping footage for interview segments and extras on upcoming "Muppet Show" DVD season box sets.

At a talkback with Lisa Henson after a screening of "Dog City", someone asked about Disney's plans. She was vague in reply but sounded hopeful about getting some projects the Jim Henson Co. had been working on before the acquisition off the ground.

I know this isn't much, but I hope it helps!

I know that Disney is filming something with the Muppets in Studio 1 at Disney-MGM studios in the next couple of weeks.

But I would certainly love to see the Muppets movie ride get the green light.

But you can just look at my handle to tell I'm Muppets fan.
