I just saw the movie last night. I'll hold back on my review until I hear what others think.

Please discuss your feelings/reviews...

Saw it last evening. Cute film, not as good as "The Muppets" from a couple of years ago. It didn't seem to have as much 'heart' as that one, but it had one musical number that I laughed at until it hurt. Missed the characters that Jason Segal and Amy Adams played, enjoyed Tina Fey, was 'meh' on Ty Burrell's French cop and even though I usually loathe Ricky Gervais- he was OK. Musical numbers were solid. Probably the most impressive, for me, thing about the whole movie was a role for Bobby Benson's Baby Band- my favorite obscure Muppet characters.

I enjoyed it more than the last Muppet movie, but I felt the movie dragged quite a bit. That said, the bad Kermit actually had me laughing out loud in spots, but Sam Eagle wasn't given as good lines as he should have had.

I did like that The Muppets made fun of their lack of popularity in the movie. I don't know what Disney does next with the franchise......maybe a Broadway like touring show or an updated Muppet Babies on Disney Junior? Options are running thin.

I love the muppets but every report I read says it was a flop last weekend. The Muppet franchise always breaks my heart - I grew up with them and I wish they got more love. Every time I think of the Muppets of think of the phenomenal Jim Henson and always watch this touching video:

I thought The Muppets was vastly superior to Muppets most wanted. I barely laughed and felt it had no heart. The music was okay but the plot was repetitive. Walter stole the show in the last movie and made it feel current. He and Gonzo were barely involved this time. I wanted to like this movie but I just couldn't. It just seems to me that Jason Segel understands Muppet lore more than whoever wrote this last movie. If they make another film anytime soon I hope he's involved.

I was not crazy about it, which really bummed me out. The songs and the actors just didn't do it for me. It was a good movie, just not great. Maybe my expectations were to high.

I really enjoyed Muppets Most Wanted and thought it was an improvement over the last film. My problem with Jason Segel's Muppets is he and Amy Adams hijack the movie with a worthless B-plot that was not necessary and caused the actual Muppets to take a back seat in their own movie. As much as The Muppets totes their "triumphant return" the truth is they never really went anywhere, they were just busy making Muppets in Space and several other unpopular sequels. Also, I'm sorry but I don't consider Walter a Muppet, he's a lucky punk who stole the spotlight from Muppets who worked in the background for years and never got their chance to shine. Meanwhile in this film he doesn't add much to the plot other than the occasional "Come on guys" or "What are we gonna do?". Heck I consider Danny Trejo more of a Muppet as he plays a role in both films.

As far as MMW goes, I was dreading Ricky Gervais in this film as he doesn't have the best track record sometimes (Spy Kids 4) but I think he had some great lines and had some nice back and forth with Constantine (Who needs his own spin-off or at least a cameo in the next film). Tina Fay was fantastic as usual and I loved all the musical numbers, overall a win in my book and I hope the returns on the film warrant another movie in a few years. "We're doing yet another sequel..." :D

Don't rely on Segel or stiff him.

Also, FYI, the writer for MMW was Nick Stoller, who co-write the last film with Segel, and he understands the Muppets just as well as Segel.

It seems to me that the person who are saying bad things about MMW clearly do not understand or "get" the Muppets.

Clearly. Welcome to the boards homie.

I loved Muppets Most Wanted. Sure, it wasn't as great as The Muppets, but it still provided a lot of laughs. I was cracking up during the "... while they wait for Tom Hanks to make Toy Story 4" part of 'We're Doing a Sequel.' Such a great song!
