I don't know about tacked on... the whole ride is based on the story behind it. JJ sends you out to get the story, Spider-Man shows up, tells you it's dangerous and to stay close. Because of that you get web slung up into the air, almost fried by Doc Ocks tentacles and The Shocker shocks you and Hydro gets you wet... sounds like the ride was tacked onto the movie if anything.

Again...like I said...I'm in the minority.

However, I believe that Spidey is WAY overhyped. Short and incoherent is how I would describe it.

To each their own :D I can also assume nostalgia blinds me when I'm in MSHI since I grew up reading all those comics.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man attraction IS NOT based upon the movies, but rather the comics themselves. I think the storyline is good and easy to follow. You're in New York City, and the evil Sinister Syndicate is out wreaking havoc on the city, and Doc Oc has an anti-gravity gun, and demands the surrender of the city and holds the Statue of Liberty as ransom. J. Jonah Jameson, head of the Daily Bugle, sends guests out in the Scoop vehicle to get some photos of the action. I think that's a great storyline.

By the way, how come this topic went from RotM Technical Rehearsals to the storyline of Spider-Man??

I think the Revenge of the Mummy's line makes sense...the line is great! Atleast most of Universal's rides have an entertaining line unlike a little place called Fantasyland. :zipit:

There is nothing like a good ole' thread drift!:D

Getting back on topic, I think that Universal has created yet another awesome attraction. I'm glad to see that it is receiving good reviews so far.

Good luck! Universal is being pretty strict about cameras being let into the queue.

Oops..... As it turns out, my passes are good only on weekdays. Talked to guest services though. Tests are expected to continue all next week. Looks like I'll try again on Friday!:D

Not likely at all. The employees are being VERY strict on what's being brought inside the queue and onboard the vehicle. In fact, there hasn't been a single photo of the queue posted anywhere on the internet except for in the Orlando Sentinel's article a few weeks ago. If any ride video is ever posted online though, it won't be until after the grand opening. I think around that time queue pictures and more will probably show up online.

I know of a few people who have taken pictures inside the queue area already with no problems....as long as nobody sees you. However, they aren't making them available on the internet until the ride officially opens because they decided afterwards it would be better to respect Universal's wishes that no pics are taken and displayed on the internet (which is quite reputable, if you ask me)....but it is possible to take pics....but if someone sees you taking pics, they will tell you to stop.

I anticipate some site will have a video of the ride after it officially opens in May....

Be as strict as you like, there are video cameras far smaller than anything a ride attendant could find.

Well of course there are, and trust me, video is going to be online definitely. But just not now. As CTXRover said, everyone seems to be respecting Universal's wishes on not to take photographs or video inside the queue or on the ride. After all, they didn't have to open up the ride for Techincal Rehearsals. I'm sure sometime after May 21st though, there'll be a ride video on some IOA website.

We got to ride last night!

After work I took my boyfriend over to Universal (bad cast member!). We got there around 7 PM and the ride had been closed for quite some time. We played around in the gift shop for a while to pass the time. Around 7:30 the ride opened up. The lockers were terrible, but employees were strict about carry-on items. Hence, no pictures.

The queue was really interesting and had several interactive elements. Theming is well done, but it's hard to understand the storyline. This is partially because we were rushed through the queue and had little time to see the videos.

The musty smell is gone from the building!!!!!:sohappy:

Employees were really into their roles and added to the theming. I was reminded of cast members at Haunted Mansion or Tower of Terror.

The ride itself was short, but amazing! It was hard at first to notice what was missing, but most of the effects were in place and running properly. I loved the way they spray water on you just before and after any fire sequences.:animwink: The fast parts of the ride were quite thrilling, but nothing that aggrivated my motion sickness.

We faced The Mummy four times last night and are looking forward to more!:)
