MT's Worldly Update 9/23/07

Good evening folks. I went to all 4 parks today, so here are a few updates.

Animal Kingdom:

Diss Eisner all you want, but under his reign, some of the best WDW attractions were made. Expedition Everest is just what the doctor ordered for DAK. I was able to ride it 3 times in a row today utilizing the Single Riders line. People LOVE this ride, and it is basically THE reason people go here.

Yak and Yeti is still under construction and is being painted (no pics because of rain).

Hollywood Studios:

The park was dead, but I guess some of that can be blamed on the rain. ToT's wait time was supposedly 20 minutes, but I walked on 3 times in a row and got to pick the 1st row each time with no problem. You'd think that with RnRC down, the line would have been a little more substantial, but I think DHS is truly WDW's new forgotten park.

After my third trip into the Twilight Zone I decided to go check on construction around the park. Toy Story Mania is now recieving a brick facade. I wish there was concept art for what this area is going to look like...

On the way to the Star Tours area, I saw that construction walls are up around the ABC Theater...is anything exciting happening here? Lee? Corrus?

The Jedi Academy stage is coming along nicely:

Magic Kingdom:

The striping of front of the top tower is complete. They're working on the backside. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. Guess I'm just not used to seeing it.

Rode Haunted Mansion again. I really wish they'd get the changing pictures in the attic working because I really want to see the attic in all its glory!

Astro Orbiter is running again.

EPCOT:

Watched Off Kilter sing "Taking Care of Business" and ate Fish and Chips:slurp:

Nothing new under SSE. I was hoping to see some progress.

Thank you very much for the great pics. It appears that there is an actual pallet of bricks, at least I hope that is what they are using. It appears Pixar Street will set a new standard for DHS. JTA looks great too. :D

Yep, those are real bricks. I can't wait to see the final product.

Wait, maybe I just have the layout confused in my head, but doesn't the new Stage block the entrance to Star Tours? Unless they're working in a new entrance or something . . . ?

The entrance to Star Tours is to the right of all that...behind the AT-AT.

Also, the real Pixar Studios..hmmm:

No, the new stage is to the left on the entrance, essentially along where the parade route passes by the Star Tours building. The door into the Star Tours building is to the right of the stage, and isn't blocked. If anything, they'll have to rework the approach to that door from where you come in off the walkway and under the AT-AT.

Can someone describe these additions to the castle as I can't see the pictures at work. Is this more than the icicle lighting they are adding for Christmas?

I think DHS is truly WDW's new forgotten park.

I've gotten this feeling recently, too.
Funny it should come at the time that I've really grown to love the place. But I think my new-found love comes from getting more time to enjoy the outside atmosphere. The street performers are first-rate! I'm happy just wandering around listening to the mood music and watching the street shows. The park as a whole needs a major overhaul, but it still has a lot of charm that shouldn't be overlooked.

Is there any hope of having the Pixar Studios section open by Thanksgiving for the crowds? Progress seems to be going slow and that is only about about a month and a half away. When DS gets crowded it is nice to have that walkway open.

As long as Sunset Blvd is clear, DS will be okay.

I also forgot to mention that Disney has gone back to the LMA guidemaps. They were using HSM ones prior.
