Yes, FANTASTIC NEWS EVERYONE! In the most surprising news of the year, TV Guide and the great TVShowsOnDVD are reporting that Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Movie is FINALLY being reissued on DVD! After years with nothing but my too-afraid-to-use VHS copy, and the old DVD being sold for nearly $200 on eBay, (true!) they are reporting that it will come out on May 8th!
:D

"NORMAL VIEW....

NORMAL VIEWWW....

NORMAL VIEWWW!!!!!!!"
-Crow, Tom, and Mike. MST3K: The Movie

Best news I have heard in forever!
I too had an old VHS and no VHS player, but still... seems ancient regardless.
MST3K is brilliant and the movie.... ridiculous funny!

That was totally one of my favorite quotes in the whole movie! :ROFLOL:

"Cal Meecham: Check rate of radioactive decay.
Crow T. Robot: Increase the Flash Gordon noise and put more science stuff around!"

I was watching an old episode of MST3K online recently, Space Mutiny, and was laughing my rear off because of the use of old Battlestar Galactica footage for the space battles. Never got mentioned by the MST3K gang, though.

Ah, a classic.

Starring:

Slab SquatThrust!
Gristle McThornbody!
Punch Sideiron!
Big McLargeHuge!

That movie has also helped me to foster a fond appreciation for the humble railing.

omg Space Mutiny was so hilarious! I loved how they kept hissing when the lady with the crazy hair kept coming into frame.

Mike Nelson: "Oh yeah, this is when science didn't have to have any specific purpose."

Hmmm... Seeing as how I have a copy of the first release on DVD (couldn't bear to part with it) do you think I should get a new DVD. In other words, what special features are there?

And, for nerd purposes, its

"Breach hull: All Die! Even Had it underlined"

or my favorite

"That's right, escape in the largest car in the county under cover of daylight"

There are no special features, but it does have a remastered picture, which looked great...
