Mr. Toad's Wild Ride?

Okay, maybe I've truly lost my mind, but I just watched the Ichabod/Toad stories last night, for the first time since I was a kid. My question is about the hell scene on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, becuase i didn't see anything like that in the movie!? I was thinking that after the judge sentenced Toad, that he would go into some sort of devilish scene, like the ride...

It was really late last night when i watched it, maybe I dozed off during that part on accident?

They never appeared in the 1949 classic. They were created by the Imagineers to simulate where toad has lead you.

that's odd. i thought to come up with something like that, it would have been in the movie! weird...

There have been quite a few hell scenes in Disney Rides; Toads was done quite tongue in cheek (flat UV lit sets) - to really scare the kida you could have taken them next door to the original Snow Whites Adventures (the `Scary` was added to the name after the DLP-based refurb, which funnily enough is nowhere near as scary as the original)

Yeah, I remember the hell scene. Mr. Toad's was a classic ride, but let's not start that again here. The hell scene came right after your car enters a dark tunnel and suddenly a train light comes on and it looks like your going to be run over by the train. The next turn you look like your in hell and there's these (if at all possible) cute little demons with pitch forks bouncing all around.

No it wasn't in the movie, but I think it was a cute, but very contraversal ending.

Hell a-ok!

Oh come on! Let's not be prudish. Cartoon devils have been a mainstay in many cartoons for years. I know it's Disney...but honestly it's harmless. One of their classic villians even has the last name Deville (i.e. DEVIL!!!) I went on the ride when I was four and for many years thereafter...I've hardly been damaged by it.

On the contrary...The Haunted Manison might have damanged me for good.

It was kind of odd just in that it didn't match the film per se. However, it was great. Also, I swear Figment was based on these devils. Also, Cruella's last name is DeVil, not DeVille. It is a direct reference.

I agree with you but there are some people that will none the less complain.

just for the record, the scene didn't bother me, but i just didn't understand why they would add that scene, since it had nothing to do with the movie... i mean, who throws a hell scene in just on whim!? a really mad imagineer that day!? haha.

When has Disney ever cared about being true to a story? Their movies are based on others stories and they change them to suit the message they want to convey, not that I have a problem with that, but I think its Disney policy to butcher stories and leave real estate to rot

I went on Mr. Toads wild ride in Disneyland. Even though I'm a really big Pooh fan I would have to say that Mr. Toad is better! I really love Pooh the ride is cute, but if I had to pick between the two it would be Mr. Toad. In Disneyland they made room for Pooh's ride w/o having to replace Mr. Toad! Why did they replace him at WDW. It makes me mad!

It makes a lot of people mad...
My guess is that they didn't want to make a whole new building for Pooh when they could use Mr. Toad. Mr. Toad was fair game because Pooh sells more merchandise than Mr. Toad ever did.
