I know it has been YEARS since JTT has been gone - rest his soul - but can someone tell me the REAL reason why Mr. Toad closed? I certainly miss it. My family and I were talking about how much we loved it and heard so many different theories as to its shut-down. The most recent theory was that Disney wanted a "Hundred Acre Wood" themed ride instead. I mean come on...they couldn't squeeze "Pooh" in somewhere else?
Least turnout in Fantasyland huh? Wow!...and I thought, especially by all of the "Save the Toad" websites, petitions and stuff, that it was popular enough to always have a great turn-out. All I remember was HUGE lines for it and when I was a little girl, I CRIED through the whole ride...especially at the end!!! Now I'd give anything to ride it again. Guess I gotta fly to California huh?
I'm not saying the ride was hurting for attendance but I think they felt it was the one ride that could go. IMO, they could have taken out The Story of the Lion King and put the ride there but that would of cost more money trying to convert a theater into a ride.
Fly all the way out to California just for Mr. Toad you say? Now that would be a "Wild" ride.

Oh...Oh...I see. I thought you meant low-attendance. Sorry about that. I agree with you that it would've cost to much for the "theater conversion"...especially because they have a "track" already laid down in the Toad building. I guess it's just sad to see the "oldies" go. Flying to California just for the Toad WOULD be a "wild ride" wouldn't it?
Speaking of the The Story of the Lion King. Is that going out too or is it gone already?? Any rumor as to what will replace it?

Toad use to have TWO separate tracks going inside and the story line was different on each side...does anyone know if the Pooh ride utilizes only one set of tracks or did it combine both sets.
and speaking of the Lion King thingy...does anyone miss the Mickey Mouse Review....is it still in Tokyo?
