I love Toad's area too, but the only time of day it feels extra magical to me is at night after the fireworks and most of the kiddos have gone to sleep or the land has been generally vacated (the land being lit up is wonderful, too!). During the day, the center of Fantasyland can feel loud, hot and congested as those attraction's target audiences keep the area filled.
Completely agree. Lovely architecture in that neighborhood of Fantasyland, but it's so packed with strollers and children during the day that it's more or less a no-go for me between the hours of about 9am and 11pm (and even then, sometimes it can be crowded and chaotic first thing in the morning). But it has a calm nostalgic ambience late at night.

I was secretly hoping the Secret Life of Pets ride at Universal Hollywood would open the doors in making small-scaled dark rides popular again. I loved the ride myself and made me wish Disneyworld would instead add multiple smaller attractions in Fantasyland instead of trying to make every ride the next big e-ticket. Disneyland has so many dark rides in their Fantasyland, would be great for MK to add a few.
I'm still hoping this happens. USF and IOA would benefit enormously from a SLOP-style dark ride. DCA would too.

I haven't even ridden SLOP in person yet, but clearly it's a charming, detailed attraction with great visual humor and a "cocktail party"-style that rewards repeat rides.

MK's Fantasyland has always been the park's weak spot, but I don't see Disney expanding it anytime soon. 7DMT is a quality attraction but TLM is rather uninspired, and IMO neither compensates for the absence of Alice, Toad, or Pinocchio. So glad we still have the Snow White dark ride at Disneyland.
