Moving vacation time up and the deposit......

So we're booked for October 4-11th. However, IF they offer Free Dining, it usually ends on the 3rd and then picks back up in the middle of the month. So, my thought process is to switch to the last 2 weeks of September, since it's covered then. I figure that if they don't offer it then we can switch back to October. My question is this: if we move the package back to September, do we have to completely cancel and reapply a deposit, or can they just move the dates?

We cancelled a trip that we were going to take in January, but we rescheduled for later in the year (June). Our original reservation was a room only, so our deposit was the first night's stay, and we changed to a package with the new res. They refunded the original deposit and charged us another $200 deposit for the new res, but I think this was b/c we changed from room only to full package. Not sure that it would work the same way for your situation - I would think you wouldn't need to do another deposit if you're just moving up the dates.

If you had a package and are keeping everything the same except the dates they should just be able to do that without canceling and rebooking. If the new dates cost more you may have to add to your deposit but that's it.

Yeah, I'm going to call them on lunch and find out. I figure that I might as well set us up for a time period that will be covered IF the offer it and then just move back to October if they don't.
