That's just plain silly.

Hi all - long time lurker. Just about 5 minutes ago, my coworker who just came back from WDW heard a rumor and i had to sign up! Sorry if you guys have heard this already, or if its confirmed, but if not, I wanted to make sure I shared!

When he was at Hollywood Studios he said that there was some construction going on, and he asked one of the CMs what it was for, and he said they told him they would be moving 3 of the rides from Universal (the Marvel ones) to HS. Then - he said he went to Universal a few days later and those rides the CM mentioned were closed down.

Don't know how reliable this dude is, but if he's telling the truth, that cant be a coincidence, right??

Well if that was going to happen there would be pages worth of stories about it along with it bumping the wheeler story as the top story.

But fraud, in the legal sense, requires that the intent be for personal gain or to damage another person or party. The listener of this misinformation is not damaged in any way, and the Cast Member, acting on his own behalf and outside his capacity as an agent of the Walt Disney Company, could not possibly see any person gain from his actions.
In my original post I was simply trying to be snarky. In reality it doesn't matter, since none of the "claims" are really anything egregious. But if you tell a guest a ride is down because there isn't enough staff, and the real reason is bolts were flying off a part of the structure, or they're sealing a fracture on the track, then that is fraud, because the CM is making a claim that essentially says the ride is safe. At Six Flags we were told to tell guests "I don't know" when a ride was closed (unless it was for guest misbehavior or weather). While it may not have been a factual statement, we weren't making any claims that may have been fraudulent. And they were strict with monitoring that.

I knew it would never happen, but I would hate to see Universal/Marvel rides in Disney World. I'm sure it'll eventually happen years and years down the road, but I'd hate to see the mixing of both. I always think of Disney as a separate entity, and I'm not a big fan of the Marvel stuff. I love Disney because its what I was raised on. Just my preference. For some reason, Mickey and Spiderman just don't seem to mix properly for me.

Dude, do you have to make everything about the law? I think everyone gets it by now: you're an attorney or you go to law school. You've 'proven' that time and time again by flexing your knowledge. It gets a bit old when even innocuous topics get legal spins put on them.

No, I appreciate some logic here... It wasn't even that difficult for normally educated person to understand. The person whom he was countering was absolutely and utterly being ridiculous accusing people of fraud when he obviously doesn't understand what fraud even is. I applaud his comments and his educating some people, because we need some logic thrown into the mix.

The first person who used the word "fraud" in this thread was fosse76, who is the person I quoted. If you read many threads (or even look at his previous posts), you'll see he has a history of turning a lot of threads into legal/policy debates. It gets old on a Disney forum.
