Easy for me... there were a number of big budget spectacles designed as "Franchise starters" that I quite enjoyed, but it seems not enough others did, as they underperformed and the franchises were stillborn. Almost all of the movies below left audiences hanging with a scene/dialogue that indicated forthcoming stories.
