Movie Tie-Ins

Okay...how many of you went out and saw Reign of Fire? Am I the only one who thought it was a horrible movie? It made me wonder about Reign of Fire the attraction...even if they began constructing it now, it'd take about two years to complete, and no one is going to remember this movie by then...

One further thought on movie tie-ins. ABC had a special on the upcoming movie Signs, and it is a Touchstone movie. It looks like it should be good (Mel Gibson wouldn't do a bad movie!)...is it feasible to have a movie tie-in with this? I would hope it would be at MGM, where the tie-ins belong...

No. Besides a script full of holes (in the whole entire world theres only 1 male?)...the acting was awful.

ALTHOUGH...in the beginning, that elevator scene would make a great attraction. Even if it was a "Backdraft" type rip off.

Reign of Fire didn't do well enough to ever be made into an attraction, so don't count on it. I hope that this isn't the last nail in Beastly Kingdom's coffin...

and I thought ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE had the worst marketing!!!

Reign of Fire could have had a HUGE draw if it was just marketed enough...I mean look at Austin Powers 2 and MIB 2...YOU SEE IT EVERYWHERE!!! I think I saw an ad for RoF maybe ONCE.

After reading the reviews before I saw the movie, I knew there was going to be almost no plot. So I thought the movie was quite comical. Especially Matthew McConahey (I know I killed his last name), he was a riot with that axe and his craziness. The movie would have flopped either no matter how much advertising was done for it since it was just a bad movie. I think Disney realized this and decided not to advertise like crazy. I just hope they don't have a movie tie-in and just have a dragon coaster of some kind. I HIGHLY doubt BK will be killed because of this movie. No matter how bad the movie is, people will go for the quality of the ride, not the movie tie-in.

The ride doesnt have to have a movie tie in. (I remember a time when Disney actually used to make rides that wern't based on movies or tv shows. memories... ) If they want to make a ride about dragons, well, they will make a ride about dragons.

I read that Disney is actually having crop circles made in various parts of the world to publicize the new Signs movie.

Disney seems to think Signs will do well...it could make a really cool scary attraction...and, being that it involves crop circles, I could actually see (a stretch, I know) a new ride at The Land...being that Epcot is the only park that doesn't really have a scary attraction as of yet (Alien Encounter, Tower of Terror, Dinosaur)...or they could just put it in at MGM...
