Has anyone been following Wimbledon this year? Russian Maria Sharapova defeated Serena Williams to win the ladies crown. Have you seen this girl? She's awesome... and hot! She's like Anna Kournikova, except she's good! Maria Sharapova actually made me interested in tennis this year. Haha. :lookaroun

She won the whole thing! She beat Serena in straight sets! It wasn't even close!

Maria did very well! It's always good to get a new champion, and such a young one! Not to mention she is almost a million dollars better off for the win too! They always seem to keep that part quiet when it comes to Wimbledon, but the prize fund is HUUUUUUGE.

I love the Wimbledon tournament...it is the only tennis I watch. It is always nice to see a new winner, instead of the same old winners year after year....especially if they are so hot

Hey Steve...when is there going to be a actual British Wimbledon champion?....I thought you had a chance a few years ago...but Tim Henman is getting a bit long in tooth now.

Like many tennis players, she lives here in Florida...many of the best tennis training centers are in Florida....I know of a good one is Boca Raton and anther in Bradenton.

I think you and AL are right, Henman is losing his best chances. Our country is not really setup to develop tennis champions. Very few courts are available for general use, and the weather here isnt good for all year round play. I think we have to be content with hosting a tournament for overseas players to win.

The weather is an understatement!! :lol:

But Wimbledon Town Center really gets a buzz on around tournament time.

There are not a lot of "upper class" events south of the Thames.....
