MouseFest - solo?

I really want to attend MouseFest but if I do, it would be a solo trip for me. I did a solo trip back in 2001 solo and I honestly enjoyed it but it seems it might be different at a big meet like this. I'm worried about eating arrangements and the like. I don't want to feel like a third wheel.

any thoughts, tips?
Anyone else going?

Thanks.

Many people go solo - I chatted with many last year on the bus and at many events.

There is only one big meet, that is the Mega Mouse Meet, and you are free to spend as much or as little time there as you wish - its a big conference room in the Dolphin where you can walk around and meet many Disney internet hosts, book publishers, etc.

All of the other meets are smaller, and you can go to as many or as few as you want.

If you are going you should make dining arrangements ASAP.

Being alone I'll most likely do counter service, I really enjoy being able to change plans at a whim. The mega meet is at the beginning right?

I went solo to Mousefest last year.....I had a great time!

I met many wonderful people and never felt "like a thrird wheel". I went to a lot of the smaller meets and also the Mega meet 9that is near the end of the Mousefest, on Saturday.

The different tours were a lot of fun......photography, Hidden Mickeys etc. I highly recommend them!

I also ate mainly counter service but did treat myself to 2 sit-down lunches, at Chefs France and Le Cellier. Admit: did feel awkward by myself a little at these. Bonus: I got to do what I wanted, saw all the wonderful decorations at the resorts and parks, and got going very quickly in the morning!

I will probably go again in a couple of years.......extra trip savings is being spent taking my sons to DL in October this year! :sohappy:

Hi WDWsmith2001:

I am attending Mousefest this year and going solo. I arrive at POR on December 3rd and I'm departing on December 10th. I went solo in May, 2006 and had a great time. I have signed up for the Wishes Cruise on Friday evening and the Fantasmic Desert Party on Saturday evening. I am so excited about my first Mousefest! Come, it will be loads of fun! :sohappy: :sohappy:

I must admit that I have not booked any meals. I assume that I will just do counter service. When I went in 2006 solo I was not comfortable eating in the sit-downs.

If you want, we can plan a dinner together!

I really want to do the Hidden Mickey one, and anything EPCOT or Magic Kingdom based. I'm all about counter service unless I find some company.

Sounds fun! I'll be off the meal plan so I can eat anywhere anytime.
