That would be a neat trick, especially as your country has no official language:D

Youd just have to grunt and make hand gestures.

Oh and Andy, The Parisians hate everyone, even the French.

I heard Roger Hedgecock on the radio the other day and he said he had recently vacationed in France and was surprised to find that with all their bad press lately and declining tourism that they are willingly and gladly speaking English now.

Well, good for turists in general, because my crappy French just couldn't save me when I was there! Also, as a Brazilian, I understand you have no obligation on knowing no language other than your own to deal with tourists, they should make the effort of getting to know your culture if they wanna visit, but it's always nice to have some kind of backup. And since is English is pretty much a must nowadays for the Internet, jobs and so on...

Also, about the Spanish comment, just to clarify, since there are a lot of Spanish-speaking individuals living in the US right now, and since Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world, I guess having spiels in English and Spanish is a better way out than what would be the perfect way to avoid lawsuits in our idiot-infested world: having spiels in EVERY single language known to man. But who'd like to sit for 10 minutes before experiencing an attraction?

would just like to put my 2 cents in here and stick up for the french....personally...I get offended when people come to America and don't speak English...yeah it's supposed to be the land of the free...but my ancestors came over from Italy to America and back then they were expected to speak English and they did it willingly...it was difficult but they did it....nowadays I can't go anywhere without someone speaking a foreign language....you come to America you learn English....it's just that simple....you can't speak it learn to if you're going to live in a country where that's the language.

So it would stand to reason that the French would feel that way as they should.

Is it just me or does the typical American get more ignorant conservative and rude with every waking second?

My second question is...what is it with Disney demolishing things that were once smash hits only to replace them with things that are hyped up and flop 2 years later....why don't they just refurbish many many childhood classics then replace them with something like a "motorcar stunt show" that I know for a fact will draw huge crowds a year or 2 (or even immediately) after it opens. such a waste of millions of dollars.

Future looks tricky for the osbornes. New york street is being looked at, but is obviously not ideal. :(

There isn't any way to errect temporary structure for them is there?

I wouldn't have thought it would be too difficult to construct a few facades, provided they could find an appropriate area for them?

I was just wondering that since they are rerouting the backlot tour, does this mean it will or wont include Catastrophe Canyon, I really hope they keep this part of the attraction, its really good!!!

Oh no CC would still be included. CC would pretty much become the only purpose for the tour if residential street were to go.

Does this logically make sense. I skip backlot tour now, I think all that land back there could be better used for new attractions and park expansion at this point.

I was always taught that Brazil is in America (but not part of the United States).

As for the Osborne lights, if they take them out, I'll never get my wife to go back.:brick:

as much as i will LOVE to see this attraction come to mgm, i dont know if i like it enough to see it replace a re-done residential street.

-what i'm saying is that i would really love to see a total refurb of the backstage tour including residential street, in which they could add numerous homes that people would recognize today, i.e. have the 'according to jim' house, the house from '8 simple rules', the house for 'george lopez', or drew carey, or maybe some of the homes from disney channel shows that the kids would recognize... i mean, it just doesnt make any sense to me, why do you think they didnt do these kinds of things years ago? it can't cost that much to build 1/4 of a house right? -why just leave all these like 10-15 year old homes that barely anyone even recognizes anymore?

-it simply doesnt make sense to me, this park was supposed to be all about the movies, tv, etc. and i think the park is losing more and more of this feel, IMO we need more 'backstage pass' type attractions... i think the only attractions currently staying true to the concept are indy, the backlot tour, the animation tour, and the GMR does an EXCELLENT job setting the tone of the park (glad to see it just went under a major rehab, because this means it will most likely be around for some time to come.)

anyway.....thanks for listening, hopefully someone can relate.

You're absolutely right. Of the 4 parks, the Studios is probably the easiest one to inject some life into, all you need is some imagination since the company has literally tons of sources on TV and movies to use.

*still hoping to see a "House of Mouse" restaurant some day*
