Motor Stunt Show new info?

I saw the new photos on the WDWMagic main page of the FastPass machines and lines at the Motor Stunt Show. I've also heard on these pages that they're looking at a May opening (maybe a soft opening a month or so before). My question is this: does that make any sense? How can the show building be SO complete that even the fastpass machines are there, but it's not opening for nearly six months? I'd assume the fastpass machines would probably be the final touch.

I know they need to do some training and all, maybe even a few months, but six months worth? Seems odd. So I'm wondering if the opening will in fact be earlier than we think. Anybody in the know here?

I, of course, have interest in an earlier opening - I'll be there in March and would love to see the show...

It would not be cost effective to introduce a new attraction in the off-season, IMO. It would be much better, from a marketing angle, to introduce the attraction when the 50th begins, as well as feeding off the buzz of the other attractions/shows being introduced for the 50th.

They should get it open for the Spring Break crowds.....

I would not be surprised if it opened a week after Easter, when the crowds die down. People are going to come over Easter anyway, why open a new attraction then, open it when they leave and incent others to come down.

But the thing is, if they open it for Easter Break they could really pile on the marketing and try to get good word of mouth before summer. So many people will be there that week, so when they see "Motor Stunt Show, just opened!" they'll most likely flock to it to see what it is, not to mention (hopefully) tell their friends how good it was, which would hopefully bring bigger crowds for the summer and beyond.

That's the way I see it, anyway. I'm no marketing guru, after all.

Training Training Training

i did see the show in Paris many many times and they need a few month of training in the actual set when it is completed, not only on the parking lot... the drivers push it to the absolut limit and have maneouvres to handle with only inches between the cars so they need a few month on stage to really know every bump on the road and every corner of the set .
Second point is they need to get enough rubber on the ground to have grip and train the show in rain, sun and cool conditions.. the cars react differently in every condition..... so be patient is is well worth the wait and we do not want drivers hurt themself because of the lack of training ( happens even in Paris every other month with lots of training )
So i hope it will be early but fully understand when it will be delayed...
Maybe they do a show with not all the elements when they start the public showings and complete it time after time like they did in Paris ....

Not only that, having two HUGE stage shows would suck up people like crazy. Not only that, it would remove people from the Hollywood Blvd & Sunset Blvd area.

I hung out with the guys training for the stunt show today in the Epcot parking lot. I asked them what the opening date they were shooting for was and they told me a soft opening March 15th. They were practicing some really cool moves today and this show will be really cool.

But to give them credit... they are adding hood scoops... so... its a tad bit better.
