Most underrated ride/atttraction in WDW

I was thinking the other day about this and for me it has to be "One Man's Dream".

I never did it on my first couple of trips for a variety of reasons, partly due to the park map description makes it seem "boring" (for lack of a better word). A "self guided walking tour" certainly does not do it justice. It's now a staple and can't wait to bring my kids to see it next year. I absolutely love it and I've not seen a crowd in there ever.

What is yours?

I think it is safe to say that all of the World Showcase films are under-rated. I had never seen neither O'Canada nor Impressions de France until this year, and I've been going to EPCOT regularly for the last 16 years! Most of the people I go with, and some I've heard in the parks claim they're boring. While they may not be some people's cup of tea, they sure are wonderful films that shouldn't be overlooked!

how about Castaway Creek - This 2100-foot continuous river raft ride lets guests aboard inner tubes meander through rain forests, caves, open grottos, waterfalls and a waterworks area. Children must be accompanied by an adult or Cross Country Creek - This is one of the most relaxing things you can do at Blizzard Beach. Hop into a complimentary inner tube and enjoy leisurely floating along the 3,000-foot creek that encircles Blizzard Beach. It'll take you about 30 minutes to go completely around, but that is only if you stay in your tube and let the current take you. You do not need a tube to enjoy this attraction and you are free to walk, swim, or float. Be prepared for dripping ice water when you pass through the ice cave, and a few other surprising water features. There are total of 7 entry/exit spots to the creek

In no real order:

Country Bear Jamboree - a true classic that a lot of people don't seem to appreciate. Good old folksy fun, great music loveable characters, and some of Marc Davis' best work. Not to mention a MK original.

Carousel of Progress - said to be Walt Disney's favorite attraction, it's nice to know that the show that would never stop turning still does in the Magic Kingdom, even though it's been moved around and changed a lot.

MuppetVision - absolutely hilarious. It does a brilliant job of merging screen and Animatronic, and Jim Henson's style translates really well into a live setting. I love the comedy, the chaos that ensues, and all the great quotes ("a salute to all nations but mostly America").

American Adventure - arguably the most epic and sophisticated show ever made with an all-Animatronic cast, and it makes a real case for the medium's potential as a serious art form. It's a great counterpoint to Spaceship Earth (American history vs world history) and I force my family to watch it every time we're in Epcot. :D

Maelstrom - for me, one of the great Disney dark rides, even though it's seldom ever listed as such. By Disney comparisons, it's delightfully dark and moody, and I love how the boat is altered by the ride environment (trolls, waterfalls, etc.). Just the right amount of thrills, fun, and the feel of those fairy-tales from the far north.

Gran Fiesta Tour - a lot of people complain about the toonification of Epcot (self included), but this is one ride that does it right. It keeps the great set pieces and general feel of the original, but removes most of the cheese factor while adding a healthy dose of fun, all while staying in-theme. I'd say it's just as good as the original, as someone who clearly remembers both.

I really like the Swiss Family Treehouse. Maybe it's just the kid in me but I always wanted to be able to live in a treehouse.

As a Canadian I have seen O Canada. It's pretty good. Martin Short hosts it and even he makes a crack along the lines that another famous Canadian like Celine Dion would be more expected. You aren't sitting down though, just standing with a rail in front of you. I like it. For those that don't know how many famous Hollywood celebrities are actually Canadian you would be surprised when they show them there.

As for other underrated ones:

Agree with an above post on Country Bear Jamboree. We've turned into a spoiled world IMO when something so simple like that can't be appreciated

Hall of Presidents - You have to get goosebumps here. I've never been to the White House, but in the lobby I almost feel like I have. I love the pictures of some of the former Presidents, even the picture of George Washington with a hidden Mickey. But it's a moving presentation that still is stirring. Just the thought of all those men up there together is something to be proud of, and I am Canadian.

One Man's Dream - Agreed with the OP. A must see at the parks. Very nostalgic

Carousel of Progress - never understand the hate it gets. Maybe a product of an attention deficit society? I think so. What a classic though.

Its a Small World - How is this underrated? Well, some people hate it. I can never understand why. I love it to pieces, always have. It was the first ride I ever went on at WDW in 1991 when I was almost 11 years old. I honestly love the innocence of it, and the music is awesome. I never care if that song is implanted in my brain all day

Everest - Okay, I have never seen the Yeti in full mode, but if you are riding this thing for the first time it is a truly great overall experience and I think that can include coaster enthusiasts too

Splash Mountain - Along with Pirates and Haunted Mansion I know this ride is often a favourite, but with the attention to detail, the thrill factor, the theming and even the queue, this ride can NEVER get enough credit IMO

Definitely agree especially the France film.

I'd also add the Nemo ride at the Seas. It just does not get the respect it deserves for reasons that have been expessed numerous times here. But if you remove the emotionalism of characters at Epcot and really think about what they had to work with, they did an amazing job. The queue is one of the best at WDW and the ride is beautiful, cutting edge and imaginative.

All-Time? Cranium Command

Completely agree. Probably one of the best shows in EPCOT(before it closed) It's sad that everyone, disney fans and regular people, all remember Horizons in some way, shape or form while Cranium Command and really all of WoL is forgotten. I would say the same for the Living Seas too.

Isn't it crazy that as recently as 12 years ago Body Wars was EPCOT's major thrill attraction, and now its standing but not operating?

Another I thought of is Living with the Land. I like how it mixes dark ride sets with a real life greenhouse/laboratory. Sure, it doesn't have a CM or catchy folk song anymore, but it is still something that can't be missed.

I think Nemo doesn't get the respect because the previous version was in many ways much more creative and better fit the rest of the pavilion.

I agree with you - "One Man's Dream" is such a terrific attraction, and the film is awesome and touching. But yeah, every time I've seen it, the theater has never been full. I think it's the show building itself - it's not terribly impressive. It needs an new look, one befitting the story of the Man Behind The Mouse. I'd make it look like a lavish, miniature, old-fashioned movie palace, with a sparkling marquee and paintings and sculptures of the greatest Disney characters all over it. That'd grab people's attention a heck of a lot better than that bubble machine that was being used the last time I visited WDW.
