Most silly question ever.

If you have a park bag with the wallet slots, do you use that part of it? I always toss my wallet into my park bag anyway, as I am paranoid that someone could unzip my bag and take my cards and money out without my even realizing it. But it would be great to not have the added weight of my wallet in my bag. Please tell me I am crazy and it would be ok to use the slots provided.

I did warn you this was a silly question.

From a personal security standpoint, keeping credit cards, money and ID where it's obvious is not a good plan. Keeping them in something you can put down and have less control over is also not a good idea.

All that said, generally security at Disney is better than most public space, so it's less likely to be an issue.

The real issue these days is people stealing your id using a cell phone or reader. They don't even have to open your bag. I use a very small RFID protection wallet or I use the RFID sleeves if I intent to put the cards straight into a bag. Additionally, for using the slots in a bag, you can sew a velcro strip across the card section with the "sticky" side at the top and bottom of the slots. It only takes a few minutes, and it is much more likely you would feel someone trying to pull the velcro apart to get the cards.

RFID data is (or should be, ask your bank) encrypted.

Aside from that no, your card can't be cloned with the data - plus any data obtained (and if the encryption is obtained as well) would yield just one purchase.

I do not bring cash. Just my ID and 1 credit card as a backup in case our bag is stolen. I do not bother with a wallet. We pay for everything with Magic Bands. It is quite convenient not having to dig for anything.

I just bring a back up CC and an ID. CC is linked to MB so for me it is not really necessary to carry a wallet . My backpack has a wallet compartment on the inside of the backpack. ID and CC go in that along wit cell phone and anything else that can fly out during the rides .

I bought an RFID protection, anti-theft cross body bag from LLBean for my trip to Europe. Also purchased the RFID protection wristlet that holds ID, AP, DVC & TiW cards, credit card and some cash - fits nicely inside cross body bag. Which can also fit phone, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, lip balm. And the zipper packet on the outside is perfect for two disposable ponchos. The trap on the bag is wide enough so it doesn't cut into your neck or shoulder.
