Most reasonably priced grocer

We leave Oct. 11 for our stay in an offsite villa. Normally, we stop by a grocer to grab a few items: snacks, water, etc. I was wondering what is the most reasonable priced grocer off the 192? I'm thinking Publix is the most common but is there Krogers? I guess Wally world is also a choice.

Thanks!

We always use Walmart although on my familys (minus me) last trip they took a liking to target...I dunno which one is cheaper though, to us being from the uk everywhere is cheaper!

Publix is CLEAN and reasonably priced, fresh stuff is always fresh. Can't say that for Walmart:lookaroun. There are no Kroger's down here:wave:

If you are coming in on 417 there is an awesome Super Target at Hunters Creek.

I agree with some others. You get a better shopping experience at Publix, but Walmart is cheaper. If you are just getting non perishables, go to Walmart. If you are looking to get some produce, Publix is WAYYYY better than walmart.
Also, if you have a fridge in your room, Publix Deli has AWESOME iced tea and lemonade!!!:slurp:

I agree. Walmart is farther than Publix but has a bigger selection of non perishables. Publix also has Boar's Head lunchmeat which is what the Kroger at home has so I loved having that bit of home while I lived in FL.

To back-up up what others have said, Wal-Mart or Target would be cheapest, and are good places for just non-perishables, but for fresh stuff and an overall much more enjoyable shopping experience, Publix can't be beat. Some items may cost a few cents more than they do elsewhere, but with that extra cost comes a clean store, helpful staff, and fast service.

And sorry, but no Krogers way down in these parts. You may see a Winn-Dixie or Albertson's, but Publix dominates Florida.

Ok, most of you guys seem pretty up on Publix in general. Walmart and Target are ok if you are staying with non-perishables. Out of curiosity, does Florida have sales tax on groceries? No big deal on this, I was curious.

I remember when we were there in 2006 it seemed like there was a Publix everywhere. I just know here at home they are sometimes substantialy higher than Krogers. So, I think since we will be buying mostly non-perishables we will head to Wally world and if we need fruit or such run into Publix.

Sounds like a plan!
