People tend to look at the negative sides of Disney World these days, so I wanted to see if others too experienced the magic recently.

Most magical moment at WDW (fairly recently)?

Th most magical moment I’ve had recently was when I was checking in to the Port Orleans - Riverside lobby. Chip and Dale came out of the lobby and greeted us at our car. They then proceeded to take our luggage for us and walk it up to the checkin desk. It was an amazing moment for the whole family.

Two for us, two years in a row. We stayed at Royal Pacific at Universal and it was fine. Room was decent and the resort was nice and we had a great time at Islands of Adventure. However, we had just stayed one night to take advantage of Express Pass the next day and then we checked into POR in the afternoon. It honestly did feel special or like coming home.
This year, we were preparing to check out of POR (again) and Donald Duck and Goofy were greeting guests just around the corner from our room. We were able to have our picture taken without fighting through hordes of kids. May seem silly to many, I mean, it's a person in a costume, but it really made things feel that little bit more special.
Lastly, sitting at the Wilderness Lodge or Contemporary Resort in the evening and hearing the horns of the boats across the water is also magical.
This year, we were preparing to check out of POR (again) and Donald Duck and Goofy were greeting guests just around the corner from our room. I moved to FL back in September (transplanted from CA, where I was a pretty regular visitor to DL/DCA). Prior to moving, I started a long-distance relationship with a woman who lived in Orlando. After many weeks of emails, texts, and Snapchat video calls, we resolved to do Disney together as an official first date. I booked three nights at the All-Star Movies resort and we did three days in the parks together. The whole thing was magical for me. We have been living together since October. =]

This didn’t happen to me but I witnessed it. It was in January 2022, I was in line at Tower of Terror. Standby was pretty long, maybe 45 minutes. A few parties in front of me was a young couple. The girl was dressed in this awesome ToT bellhop dress, complete with the hat. Her hair and makeup were perfectly done, you could tell she was just super into it. After waiting maybe 5 minutes, a bellhop cast member came out and said, “where have you been? We’ve been looking all over for you! Staff are not permitted outside!” And he took the two of them in through the lightning lane. It was so fun to witness and it made me so happy to see CMs so into their role like that.

Fantasmic! came back on my birthday last year and my group and I made it into the first showing the night it returned. The crowds were crazy, but the energy was amazing and it was great to experience the new scenes with no spoilers!

My recent trips have a been a bit of a mixed bag, but I really like GoG.
A pixie dust moment happened on my last day.
I got a GoG BG, but the BG number was too high. I had to leave WDW before it was going to be called. On a lark, I stopped by the blue tent with low expectations. Other times I've asked questions at the blue tent, their responses have been underwhelming, but the CM that morning was great. He adjusted my BG a little, and I was able to ride GoG.
It was a fun way to end the visit!

Last Sept - - For the first time, I rode Space Mountain with my five and half year old little guy. He loved it so much we rode it 7 more times that day.
It reminded me of riding SM with my dad. He passed away 22 years ago.
There was lots of Disney Magic, and heart strings being tugged at, going on that day and for the rest of the trip.
We also rode BTM-SM-everything else except 7DMT.
As cynical as I may seem, there are still magical moments to be had at the parks.
I was a WDW baby,toddler,teen and adult - I have gone too many times, I stopped counting.
Are things perfect in the parks - No. However, focusing on the enjoyment and fun within your family or travel party helps the fairy dust fly >

Of course off topic. But had tons of magical moments at Dollywood. Guests Passing you “fast pass” tickets as you walk by, letting you play extra carnival games at no extra cost, cast being really into the experience.
I think the guests is what made it so special. People were very kind and courteous.
I’ve had plenty of magical moments at wdw. Just wanted to share a separate experience.

This is what I miss about the paper Fastpasses at the Disney parks. Several times my family had fast passes with a return time that was too late for us so we would find a family and hand them the tickets on our way out. With G+ that's no longer possible.

Back in 2019 we were staying at POR, it was Christmas time and the parks were insanely busy. We'd had a rough day (I was suffering with depression/anxiety at the time caused by cancer, although I didn't know it then) and we got our food at the for court and lined up at the till to pay. The cast member on the till could obviously see that we were low and told us our dinner was on Mickey if we could name 4 films set in the UK, we only managed 3 then drew a blank, she let us have a clue then told us our dinner was on Mickey. We were so shocked and grateful and it really helped cheer us back up. I am so grateful for that lady!

I agree. Family is key. I recently went on a trip with my brother and his wife, and their best friends. Brother covered all the drinks, I covered all of the genie+ and lightening lanes. One day, my app crashed immediately after I purchased Genie+ for all 5 of us, and when I logged back in, the only option was to repurchase it. We really wanted to ride a specific ride at our starting park, and the return time was right when we needed to park hop to our dinner reservations, so I wound up purchasing Genie a second time to lock in the reservation.
When we got to EPCOT, they hit Creations while I ran to Guest Services to see about a refund for one of the charges. Not only did they refund both charges, they gifted us genie+ for free for the day, AND gave us non-time gated reservations for 6 different rides (3 in EPCOT, and 3 in Hollywood cause she saw we had reservations later). I was truly in and out of Guest Relations within 5 minutes. My jaw was on the floor, and my brother got me an extra drink when we hit Mexico.

Great photographer in front of Millennium Falcon took a gazillion pictures of us, joking around, making us laugh, they were great!
Cast Members trying to mime hints to us as we played the Bounty Hunter game in DHS.
A cast member at Creations helping us find a cat toy, we ended up sharing pictures of our cats for 15 minutes.
Our waitperson at Biergarten was tons of fun, told us a lot about her home.
Cast member standing near the Scentsy section at Flower Garden was wonderfully knowledgeable. My husband talked his ear off about flowers/planting.
Cast member in the Seas by the aquariums was fun to listen to and gave a lot of interesting tidbits.
Cast member at Animal Kingdom Lodge was fantastic! Talked to a group of us watching the animals all about his home.
Bartender at hotel lounge gave me a double pour of wine whenever I got a glass to go. That was nice!
Sat in the back of a Friendship boat on the way back from DHS and watched the entirety of Epcot Forever. That was awesome, felt like we were on a fireworks cruise.
Mary - she works in Carousal Coffee (I think that's the name) at Boardwalk. She was a treat! Very happy, great service.
Swiss Family Robinson tree in MK has amazing views at night of Tron, Space Mountain and the Castle.

Its magical how all the birds and squirrels interact with guests sitting down to eat, just like in Disney movies.

Last December, we made it our mission to ride Splash as many times as we could…we were a little early for my DAS return time and we stopped by to ask if we could ride…the older CM asked “what’s the magic word?”
I said, “I hate Chapek too!” He laughed and said he wasn’t expecting that answer and let us in…as we were getting off (and I of course was struggling to get out), the CM came over and said, “Stay there”…the CM radioed ahead and let us ride it again!
Before we left, we got to ride it 12 times!

On my solo trip last month, I had my birthday button on and was getting ready to load on Ratatouille. The CM (handsome Frenchman) doing the loading asked me if today was my birthday and I said "yes" to which he replied "it's my birthday too!". We both wished each other a magical day and off I went. When I exited, he was now outside where you enter, waiting for me. He asked if I wanted to ride again to which I replied "Absolutely! Can you go with me?". He hesitated for a moment, then we both laughed and he let me know he wished he could, but of course couldn't, then escorted me to the front of the line. Made the 57th birthday a little easier to swallow! Epcot is my favorite park, mostly due to the Cultural Representative CM's and their wonderful attitudes. I'm so glad they are back!

While not super recent this is one of my favorite moments at The Magic Kingdom. It was later in the day and Mickey had whipped us for the day. We really wanted to stay for the fireworks though. The daughter was overtired and all she wanted was a plain hot dog. With what was left of my energy and soaked in a sweaty shirt from the day, I went to Friar's Nook and asked the CM for a plain hot dog. No bun, no tots, just a hot dog. I was fully prepared to pay the $10 for it. The CM came back with two hot dogs wrapped in paper and handed them to me. She told me she couldn't charge me for the hot dogs. It was a magical moment that was so insignificant for her but a much needed surprise for me that really made an impact.

My just turned 13 year old who had parents who to some probably over protected her through Covid. We used to go on our DVC at least three times a year. Thanks to some nice DVC cast members they gave us longer than we should on our 19 banked points and we had a great extended trip at Vero Beach on New Years. She was then able to see one day at Epcot the festival of arts. We stayed a week during spring for flower and garden festival, we are going in the fall for food and wine. In passing she found it funny that the only festival we wouldn’t see this year would be the Christmas one so now we are going to Christmas at Epcot in December.
We are very fortunate to be able to do all of this but more fortunate for such a happy young teen who sees the magic!
There is magic in the parks everyday, I love people watching sometimes for the worse but look at those who maybe overcoming a sickness or through the eyes of a child who is seeing it for the first time. It’s not always manufactured like us getting 19 points in 2023, there is magic!
We are very fortunate to be able to do all of this but more fortunate for such a happy young teen who sees the magic!
