Hi, I'm back with more questions! But I'll try to keep it short.

1. Is it possible to extend the college program? I'm doing summer but I would like to extend it till the end of December. If that's possible, how difficult is that to do?

2. How is the plumbing in the apartments? This is kind of embarrassing, but I have a bad history with a lot of toilets; I don't know why. I think I need really strong plumbing, like the kind in college dorms or in the theme parks. Are employees allowed to use parks' restrooms? I'm worried about causing bathroom problems in the apartments.

3. Do we need to fill out tax forms? How does all that work (I've never had a job before)?

4. I have a severe peanut allergy, and am filling out the medical work form for that, but is it at all possible to room with others who also have the allergy (indicated it on their medical forms)? In my experience, people tend to forget and eat peanuts, and I would have to leave windows open and air out the apartment if that happened, which is usually inconvenient to my roommates.

Okay, so that was longer than I expected. Sorry! Thank you for any feedback; it's greatly appreciated!

The plumbing seemed fine to me, we never clogged up the toilet and were there for seven months. You can use park bathrooms as long as you aren't in costume. And all the paperwork you have to fill out is done in Traditions and they walk you through it telling you what to sign where.

Thanks once again for the info. Also, would you recommend bringing a computer? It's not a big deal for me to bring it or not, I'm just wondering how necessary it is and where the computer labs are located. I want to spend as much time as possible away from the computer, and I'm not taking any classes, but it might be convenient. What do you think? How likely is it that it would be stolen? Thanks!

Yes. I HIGHLY recommend bringing a computer. The computer labs have varying hours, and sometimes you have to wait for them. Plus, they are really slow.

Alcohol?

Thanks for the advice again. I probably will bring it down then. I just need an ethernet cable, right?

I'm worried again about my roommates possessing alcohol. Do I just need to be the one and confront them about it on the first day? What happens if they don't listen to me? Do I need to tell someone?

Sorry if I'm sounding whiny. Thanks for any advice!

I confronted my roommates about alcohol the first week we were there, actually it was our second night there. Some of them were drinking a little before heading out to PI so I asked them/told them that I didn't really care to have them drinking in our Apt, and if they did, to do it in their room. At least they were nice and didn't do much drinking in there after the first week or so.
My second CP I, my roommates didn't really drink, and if they did they went to a friends place who wasn't on a CP.

Thanks, I'll be in wellness though, so wouldn't it be dangerous even to have the presence of alcohol in the apartment?

Also, sorry to sound ignorant. This is my first job, so how do paychecks work? Do you have to cash them at a bank? I only have an account at a local bank. How would I go about using the paycheck? Can I cash it through an ATM? Can I put it on a credit or debit card? Hehe. Sorry. Thanks for any info again!

If you sign up for the Vista Crederal (??) Bank (you do that during the first few days of check in), the checks get deposited for you. That is what I did, and it worked fine. There are ATMs around for Vista that you can use. I know there is one at Chatham, and one in the tunnel at MK.

Yeah, that is why I was being such a hardhead about it. Since I don't drink at all and we were in a wellness.

Oh I see. I guess I should assume most people on the CP will drink and my roommates probably will too. Man, I'm really worried about what to do. I can't control other people's actions and don't want to tell on them but this program really means a lot to me. I'll just do the best I can.

Also, do people who work in quick service food and beverage get to use the utilidors?

Yes, at the MK. Let me tell you, it is a huge lifesaver. It is really handy for getting around the park.

About the bathroom situation - is there one in the apartments or is there like a community one that everyone has to use? I'm going to go down in January. I'm so excited, but I don't know what to expect with being around all kinds of roommates and I've lived at home my entire ilfe. What all do you need to bring with you (bedsheets, TV, etc...)? Thanks!

The bathrooms are in each of the apartment, and the amount depends on the number of bedrooms. For example: 1 br= 1 bath, 2 br= 2 baths, ect. The 3 br has different amounts. I believe the 3 br at Chatham have 3, while the 3 at Vista just have 2. And the 4 br has 2 bath. The stuff that you need also depends on you. You will need sheets and linens. You can bring a tv if you want. I recommend a computer.

There are laundry facilities at the apartment complexes, it uses a smart card system, you put money on your card and then insert the card into the machine to use it each time. It's really easy, and I never had trouble finding a place to do my laundry, of course I was typically doing it at like 1 or 2 in the morning! HA!

Thanks a lot for the responses! So, do you find time to have fun and play in the parks? Would that be a bad idea during the summer when it's packed?
