More TDL Questions

We're getting pretty close to booking our trip to Tokyo but I have a couple of questions for anyone who can help:

1) If we stay in a Disney hotel, are park tickets included?
2) Are there any perks to staying in the Disney hotels (anything like EMH?)
3) How long do you think we will need. Our plan is to spend the last three nigts of our holiday there - we will work this so it won't be a weekend or over a public holiday so as to minimise the already heavy crowds.
4) Any recommendations for places to eat? Sadly we may need to stick to western style food as my wife is a veggie.

Sorry, can't answer 1) and 2) as I've not stayed in the hotels there.

3) There is a lot to see in the two parks. TDS alone warrants time just wandering and looking at the marvelous theming. Both parks are open until 10pm. For TDS you can hit the major attractions late in the evening with little wait time. I remember going from Indy to Journey and 20,000 all in the last hour. So don't fret if there are long lines during the morning.

A two-day pass gives you one park per day. Beyond that (3 or 4 day passes) you can park hop on the last two days.

4) Lots of Western food, especially Italian, which the Japanese love. I never ate anywhere that wasn't excellent, and I didn't even hit the expensive sit down places at TDS. One thing they have is nice buffeteria places (such as China Voyager at TDL) where the food is semi-fancy yet it's fast and the seating and theming are excellent. They even carried my tray to the table most of the time.

Thanks for the advice - it's good to know that the crowds aren't crazy all the time and that there is a good variety of food.

The tickets are kinda strange in the way they work - not a problem though as we will be visiting each park for at least one full day.

I checked the website and there doesn't seem to be packages that include park tickets. Hotel guests are guaranteed admission even if the park is full; and they receive a complimentary monorail pass.

I'm planning on going again in the fall, but will be staying at a "cheap" place in Tokyo.

The ticket situation is a little confusing. I really would think that tickets are included with the hotel prices but I can't find anything to confirm this and all I'm going by is lack of information....

Hope you have a great time in the fall! How many times have you been to TDL?

Twice. 1998 and 2001. Of course, for the latter visit TDS was open. I bought a four-day pass at the start of my trip, and then a two-day pass at the end. They had to drag me kicking and screaming from the place! It was late October but it was nice. In 1998 I spent one August day at TDL. It was crowded but I managed to do everything and had a wonderful day.

Tickets aren't included in hotel prices at WDW, although packages are available. They are a couple good TDR websites (Joe's). Maybe they have forums.
