More park days, or fewer days with a deluxe resort?

So I have been blessed with a month off work before I start my new job! This has, of course, led to an impromptu Disney trip! Since I just recently got back from a Disney trip with my family, and since it is spur of the moment (I'd be leaving in 19 days), it'll be a solo trip. This wilp be my first time staying solo. I've also got to be a little more careful with my budget because I didn't have as much time to save. I'm an annual passholder, so I don't have to worry about park tickets. My original plan was to stay 2 nights Pop Century and 2 nights Wilderness Lodge. However, I did some figuring, and it would actually save me money and give me an extra day if I stayed 5 nights at Pop instead. Would you opt for a shorter visit to stay a couple nights at a Deluxe, or would you rather have a longer trip, but only stay value? As a bit of background, I have stayed at both resorts, and love both.

That's a tough one. It depends on what you want to do. Do you just really want to spend all day at the parks morning till night and just sleep at the hotel, or do you want to relax and enjoy your room and hotel? If its both then do split stay. Either way it will be a great trip. Have fun going solo. I go solo every year and love it. I tend to spend more time in my room if I stay at a deluxe then I do at a moderate.

I'd choose the shorter stay but at a Deluxe......especially since you said you just got back recently from a previous trip.

Like others have said, it depends. You're well aware of what visitors are there (we all know who I'm talking about) and that they'll be at the POP resorts. So factor that into your "relaxation". I don't consider it much relaxing when you're being kept awake at all hours of the night by them.

So that being said, for the peace of mind of knowing that you could stay where they can't, I'd go for the Deluxe myself.

In part it depends on when you're going. At a lower volume time of year, the extra time may not be as important. I stayed at AS Music for about a week for Halloween, and got mostly everything I'd wanted to do in and then some- each park was revisited at least once (it also helps that I made liberal use of the early morning extra magic hours and park hopper passes).

Personally traveling solo, I'd do a longer trip at a cheaper resort. I wouldn't be planning on spending much time at the resort if I was there solo, so being at WL wouldn't make any difference to me. Traveling with family, it's totally different as my DW like the down time at the resort, and thus prefers something other than a value resort.

Depends entirely on whether you plan to spend all your time in the parks or want to relax at the resort. Decide that and the rest should be obvious.

If I'm solo, it would be POP for a longer stay, no question. Being solo, you can do what you want, when you want and for me that wouldn't be staying at the resort.

I think I'm in the minority, but if I were solo I would do the split stay. Especially if this is a relaxing trip before you start a new job. Wilderness Lodge is just so peaceful to me. If I had the time to myself, I would thoroughly enjoy the better food options at WL and being able to sit in Territory Lounge with a drink or sit out by the water and take in the scenery.

Again like someone else said, if you don't see yourself spending any time at the hotel and instead want to spend all your time in the parks, then the longer stay at Pop Century would be best for you. But if it were me, I would soak up all of those little moments that I don't get to enjoy myself when I'm there with a bigger group.

Hope you have a great time!
