More Disney stores close

From what I have heard of the concept, I think they are on the right track. Like I said, I use the Disney Store as an attraction now. It sounds like they are moving more in that direction.

(Although I must say I hate the name. Imagination Park? WTH?!?)

By the time this concept makes its way to my area, my kids will likely have outgrown this sort of thing. Maybe I'll take the grandkids.

Working there I am more excited about the Apple touch screen registers that are mobile and the mobile check out that they use in The Apple Store.

Once again...Imagination Park is not a definite thing. At least the name isn't.

Yes it is and Imagination Park is just the name of the style of store it will still be called The DIsney Store. Yes it is 100% happening as I walked through the model last month.

Yes the new style of store is 100% happening. I was referring to the naming and complete rebranding of stores. The new store design is not officially called Imagination Park, just the name being tossed around. Of course none of the store style names ('Reel', 'Mickey', 'Poppins', etc.) really matter to guests anyway.

That makes much more sense.

Still doesn't help me a bit till they decide to put one in the Cincy area though.

Again the name is offical and on the blue prints. The store I currently work in is a Pixie Dust Store, my old store that will reopen as IP was a pipe rail store. I have also worked in a Mickey store. So guest will never hear the words Imagination Park that will really only be know be CM's because all it refers to is the style of the store.

I just want the Disney Stores to sell the great merchandise they use to sell a long time ago. Its so depressing to walk into alot of these stores and see just toys, plushes, kids/baby stuff. I hope after they decide how new stores will be merchandised, they bring back artwork, watches, collectibles, adult apparel etc. Like they use to sell back in the day. I certainly don't want the Disney disappear like the Warner Bros Stores did.

A temporary Disney Store popped up in my mall and I figured that they were just here for the Christmas season.

I have asked 2 members of the sales team (on 2 separate occasions) when they were closing and the both responded with "We're not. We are here to stay, just maybe not in this store in the mall, they're trying to get us a more central location." This was a very temporary store with pipe and drape walls and located at the end of a wing...

So maybe this is a good sign for Disney Stores...

It's what's referred to as a 'Poppins' store. Basically a temp. store set up to test the waters in an area before a more permanent one is fully installed.
