(by digitalmediafx.com) Monsters, Inc. opened huge in the UK, bringing in over $13 million to make it the biggest opening ever for an animated film in the UK. To date, Monsters, Inc. has made over $84 million overseas and is expected to easily pass the $100 million mark next weekend.

Monsters, Inc. has made $251.6 million domestically. On Tuesday, the animated movie was nominated for four Academy Awards in the categories of Best Animated Film, Best Original Song, Best Sound Editing, and Best Original Score.

I know people from animation houses in the UK who flew out all their staff to the states to see monsters inc....

That to me is just amazing...I knew it would be a hit over there as much as it was here...

I think it helped that the schools are presently on holiday and the weathers well being typicaly awfull. Good film brill animation but I think the target audience is the sub 12 year olds. Whens it out on DVD?
