I'm going in early November to Disneyland and I was wondering if the Monster Inc ride will be doing soft opening then? I know that the facade is down I've seen a photo of it. Any response will be helpful.

Thanks

Are they copying off of Universal's E.T. ride?

i'm surprised there hasn't been more of a buzz on here about this ride (maybe because we're a WDW board instead of a DL one?)
anyway, it seems like its a return to the classic style dark ride in the tradition of Snow White, Peter Pan, or Mr. Toad.

Are the characters primarily going to be regular Audio Animatronics, limited motion AA's/static figures, or UV responsive painted flats? I'd love to see Generation-3 AA's for Mike and Sulley.

Based on a couple of the photos they've posted in the exit to Disneyland: The First 50 Years, some appear to be the limited motion style, but if there's a talking Roz at the end, this very well may be a mix. I'm hoping for more realistic audio-animatronics, but after seeing what they did with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, I doubt it. Also, if it's anything like the former occupant - Superstar Limo - it will be very limited motion.

Unless you count the motion of my brain knocking against the inside of my skull trying desperately to get away.

Cheers.

To each his own. I thought this was a clever and enjoyable attraction, marred only by the obnoxious Joan Rivers voice in the queue.
