Over the years we have eaten at numerous WDW restaurants, everything from Casey’s Corner to Victoria and Albert’s. My DW and I are planning a just the two of us WDW get away. This will be our Christmas present to each other as well as let’s get away from a New England winter for a week. We will slip away when our DS returns to college after Christmas break, what he doesn’t know won’t harm him.

Every trip we each choose a restaurant or event as special treat. This trip my DW stated she would like to dine at Monsieur Paul. We have not been there since our Disney Moon when it was Bistro de Paris. That’s when we enjoyed champagne, wine and brandy resulting in the little souvenir that is going to college, but I digress.

So, tell me about Monsieur Paul, good, bad or meh. Will I leave contented or will I be stopping at the Showcase Plaza for a hot dog?

I ate there about 4 months ago and it was mostly fantastic. The service is absolutely impeccable.

I believe the menu has changed since I went, except for dessert. I had the chocolate sphere and it was incredible.

Meega, nala kwishta!
We've been there many times over the years. Mostly great every time. Our last visit (last October) was very good. The service is very good. My wife got the Oxtail Broth for a starter, it has a pastry top. When she broke through to the soup, it was a very weak broth, with nothing in it. She made a comment to the server when he came back. Nothing strong, she just said she would have hope it wasn't as bland.

They were horrified when the reliezed she got one of the tester soups. Evidently, they make some with nothing in the soup, just broth, for them to test while cooking. They quickly got her another and it seemed for a few minuets the entire staff was busy getting that soup to her and apologizing. They did not charge us for the soup either, and gave us an extra chef's desert, which wasn't necessary, but appreciated.

We'll still go back either way.

Monsieur Paul is one of our must do restaurants on every visit. The food is exquisite, the service excellent and I would highly recommend it. The ONLY negative to me is that it's location in the park lends itself to a level of less casual dress than I would consider appropriate for a restaurant of this quality and atmosphere outside a park. It does detract from the atmosphere a bit. I'm not saying I would require a jacket and tie, but jeans and a sports coat would be the minimum for me in a similar restaurant outside a park.

Sports coat at Disney? lol We can't even get some people not to wear swimming gear at signature hotel restaurants.

Ate there not too long ago with my GF and it was great. Service was top notch, the food was prepared perfectly. Have to agree with @wplong1 that it's only downside is the attire of park guests, but I try to at least wear a collared shirt to go along with my flip flops! (j/k)

Was there on Saturday with a close friend. Things did not go well as compared to our visit in February. Service was unresponsive and uncoordinated. The food was average at best. Two surrounding tables had their meals sent back because they were not prepared properly. Two of the dishes were cold. Our dishes were disappointing. I really do enjoy dining here, but it was a disappointing visit.

Speaking with the waiter, we were told that the they are in between executive chefs, the previous chef (idk the name) left two weeks ago, and a replacement has not been finalized. I expect this was a major factor in the inconsistency.

On the bright side, we finished the night by watching Illuminations, then went to Jelly Rolls and had some pizza at the Boardwalk to make up for it the disappointing start.
