Monsieur Paul Reopening Date

If the food quality is at that level then a prix fixe menu is probably okay, although restaurants at that level generally change the menu regularly, if not nightly. I won't be holding my breath for that here.

My guess is this will be wildly overpriced in general, and being prix fixe will make it that much worse. I'd love to be wrong, though.

Oh, it is definitely a big "IF" .... But it is possible to be an experience worth that cost

Thank you, but no thank you. I am not a fan of the style of cuisine from Jérôme Bocuse's dining establishments. They cant even produce a rare steak (two attempts in September). The staff however are wonderful, I'm just not a fan of what the kitchen attempts.

I really wanted this place to open back up, but so disappointed its prix fixe and not ala carte. Its $175 a person, and after tip and tax and additional drinks if you so choose you're in for $500. To rich for my blood.

Why are they being so opaque about the price?

My impression is that the menu is trying too hard to make the restaurant something that it isn't. If they're trying to be V&A Light, I guess it could work, but it's still a theme park restaurant.

Monsieur Paul before the shutdown was never a hard to get reservation because it wasn't all that exceptional. My feeling is that this is going to be the exact same.

Please now reopen Takumi Tei.

I think you're right but I hope you're wrong as well. I just can't justify $450 to $500 for a meal at Disney based off the recent food quality. We did Cali Grill a few months ago with their prix fixe and it was very disappointing.

Monsieur Paul was easy to get, in part, because it was not in the DDP.

And when Narcoosees opens as a price fixe it will also be equally disappointing. Notice a trend here?

I strongly dislike prix fixe with a few exceptions (as you can tell by my post above), but yeah, I can't imagine it being worthwhile at California Grill. My last meal at California Grill when it was still a la carte was fine but not anything special (Flying Fish was significantly better a couple of nights earlier).

It is an OK looking menu, not a $175 looking menu.

As others have said, I assume there are off menu non seafood or non-something dishes.

Me, I will eat just about anything, so it's fine by me. But all of the appetizers are seafood

The seafood course is all seafood (of course) but why would the put a dish on there that is only for 2 or more people?

Every single dish in the meat course contains mushrooms.

It also has the same filet mignon that is on every menu in WDW now. How about something with some flavor instead.

It definitely was pre-covid. I used 2 credits from the DDP in February 2020 for this restaurant. But since it's not owned by Disney, I'm sure it wasn't always on the DDP.
Thanks. It was very uncrowded before it added DDP, so I guess that’s why it was eventually added.

Being a non-Disney owned restaurant, it needs to have a menu designed for maximum profitability. This menu is low cost max profit.

For perspective they had two prix fixe offerings prior to shutdown.

A Three Course and Seven Course for $89 and $119 respectively along with an alacarte menu. The three course was redeemable for 2 DDP credits.

Compare that to the current $175 $195 offering.....

Looks like an attempt to corner the just married/just retired market, but we’ll see…

Would actually fill a niche if truly exceptional food.

Shame, I am not a big enough eater for that kind of a dinner. Also only eat poultry and have a werido allergen so usually prix fixe ends poorly for me.

I am so happy my wife and I got to eat here before they got super greedy and made the price GASTRONOMICal. We absolutely loved Monsieur Paul but it is not worth $175 per person. I also find it an odd choice to eliminate kids all together. When we went we saw families dine even without a kid menu.
Agreed...but at least there is fnally a place to send all the kid hating park goers.

The $100 cancellation within 72 hours is a "no" for me. Before a trip, I'm routinely tweaking my ADRs right up until the last minute. It's one thing to be charged $10 within 24 hours but $100 within 3 days? Forget it.

Edit: That pricing. Um, no.
