This just crossed the wires Thursday afternoon.

Monsanto was a Walt Disney corporate sponsor of several attractions at WDW and Disneyland -- Hall of Chemistry, Fashions and Fabrics through the Years, Monsanto House of the Future, and Adventure Thru Inner Space in Anaheim and and Circle Vision 360 in Tomorrowland at WDW.

Monsanto focus of US antitrust investigation

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Monsanto Co. says the Justice Department is investigating whether it violated antitrust rules in trying to expand its dominance of the market for genetically engineered crops.

The department's investigation of Monsanto is part of a previously announced inquiry into consolidation in the seed industry. It focuses on the company's licensing agreements with seed companies.

St. Louis-based Monsanto is the world's biggest seed company, and its patented genes are inserted into a majority of U.S. corn and soybean crops. Critics say Monsanto has used its market clout to squeeze competitors.

A Justice Department spokeswoman declined to confirm or deny the investigation.

Edited this post for accuracy -- Monsanto only sponsored the Circlevision 360 theatre in Tomorrowland. I should have known this! I remember the Monsanto logo in front of the 360 theatre from my early youth days in the 1970s. Had the slightest idea who or what Monsanto was/is. And actually, didn't know about it until today. Just had to share. Steve, feel free to move this into another section. Was unsure where to place it since Monsanto is a former corporate sponsor at the two Disney resorts.

Um... Kodak has always sponsored the Magic Eye Theater, along with the entire Journey Into Imagination pavilion. I'm pretty sure Monsanto never sponsored Circle-Vision, either. I believe all they've ever done at Walt Disney World is sponsor the Great American Farm exhibit in Innoventions West.

Are they a current Disney sponsor? And even if so, the case isn't against Dinsey, it's against Monsanto. I'm not really sure why this is even a thread.....

Well now you see there..

If Monsanto had not stopped its association with Disney and keep putting out fantastic attractions and not going into genetic crops seeds and such this would never of happened. LOL

As a matter of fact it was.

It was kinda odd having free attractions in Tomorrowland and not the other lands. Not very foretelling of the future, was it?

For a time, it was "fun to be free" at the World of Motion, but yes a fortelling sign of the future.
