Does anyone know when the EPCOT monorail will reopen. We arrive 10/15/2020 and would sure like to take in from the Contemporary. TIA

Disney hasn’t announced when the EPCOT Monorail will resume operations. Frankly, I wouldn’t expect it to come back until guests can park hop again, which is unlikely to come back anytime soon. I think we’ll be lucky to see it running again summer of 2021.

As soon as Park Hopping resumes, so shall theEpcot Monorails. Without park hopping it is only a ride. No transportation needed between the two at this point. I don't expect that there is enough travelling between the MK resorts and Epcot to warrant running the train.

Seems like an ideal time to do some well needed patchwork and cleanup on the beam. But what do I know?

Since the Epcot monorail primarily serves as transportation from the monorail hotels to Epcot, I imagine it'll be closed until all of the hotels are back to full capacity. This means summer 2021, when the Polynesian reopens at the earliest.

I can confirm, after speaking with a CM at the Poly station, the Epcot monorail will not run until park hopping is allowed.

so, sorry to resurrect an older thread, but I know that Park Hopping is back in January because I bought the option on my mid-Jan package. Am I correct in thinking that the reason for EPCOT monorail being down is mostly because the Poly's station is down for main hall rennovation and the line from MK to EPCOT passes through Poly. But I'm not super-savvy, that's just my impression.

The Epcot line does not go through the Polynesian Village. The Resort and Express lines around Seven Seas Lagoon both pass through the Polynesian Village and are operating, but the Resort line is not stopping at the Polynesian.
