I've been to Disney World several times over the years but never got to ride the monorail. Can someone tell me where it goes and where is the best place to catch it. I want to ride it for our trip coming up in June just to say I've done it. Thanks you guys are great on here.

Thanks that helps. Prob just make a round trip in it one day while we are there. How long does it usually take to go from MK back to MK

My advice would be to arrive to the Magic Kingdom as intended. Take the time one day when you plan to go to the Magic Kingdom to take the bus instead to EPCOT Center. From there take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then take either another monorail or the ferry to the Magic Kingdom.

If you just want to ride the monorail and are going to spend time in Epcot, I recommend taking it from there. To do it from the MK involves the TTC setup. At Epcot you get on it just outside the gate and can ride it in the loop to TTC, without having to get off, back to Epcot. If you use the TTC parking lot you can just get on it at TTC, ride it to MK stay on and go back around or get off at MK spend whatever time you planned there and get back on it to go back to TTC and the parking lot.

You can also go the Epcot way and get off at the TTC, get on the MK line, ride around back to TTC and then switch over to the Epcot line and head back there. No one train does the whole thing (MK and Epcot) you have to switch, so if you just want an easy ride get on at Epcot and ride to TTC and back or Get on at TTC and ride to Epcot and back. Lot's of options depending on your schedule.

Excepting peak times, one can ride a full loop from the Magic Kingdom.

I would recommend doing the Epcot loop as well. Although the MK loop is the original the Epcot loop gives you the advantage of a different perspective from within a park. Both are enjoyable and well worth the time for a respite that you can enjoy.

Yes, you want to make time to experience it once and maybe even travel to a park on it, as others have said. We just used it for the first time on our most recent trip and now I can't imagine a trip without it!

Surprised to hear people haven't used it, but I guess it does make sense if you're not staying or eating at one of the main resorts on the loop (though, it is worth checking them out, especially during a holiday event, they really do a nice job of decorating them, as well as everything else at WDW). I'd say take the original loop, but perhaps for productivity take the monorail that goes between EPCOT and the transportation and ticket center.

I hope you enjoy your first experience on the Epcot loop and / or the Resort loop. If you've never been in the Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Resort or the Grand Floridian you should try to take some time to at least visit each lobby. I would suggest not doing the monorail at rope drop or park closing. They get very crowded and uncomfortable at those times.

One option is on the day you arrive if you aren't planning on going into a park but just rest up for the park days, is to hop on it at EPCOT and ride it to MK and then back, you wont even have to use a ticket to do that so it is something you could do on a rest day. I know we did that once with the kids simply because we arrived so late it didn't make sense to waste a ticket on the park and they were still a little bored at the hotel room... So using Disney Transportation can be an adventure to kids.

AND you dont need a park admission ticket to ride it. :D:D:D A variety of colors to choose to ride.... but the
very best thing used to be the ride up front. Sorry you missed out on that ride. It was a great view, ride and wonderful experience sharing it with CM pilots who loved to tell you about the love they had for their job and some great stories.
