Monorail to the MK

I think I asked this in the middle of someone else's thread and didn't really get a response so I figured I'd do it the right way. I'm taking my boyfriend on his very first WDW vacation. We're going to be staying at the Pop Century resort and our very first day will be spent at MK. But I want his first arrival at the MK to be by monorail instead of being dropped off at the resort bus drop-off. Does anyone know of any way to get from our resort to the TTC so we can catch the monorail? I'm a seasonal CM so I feel stupid even needing to ask this question, but I've never had to come from a resort before. The best I can come up with is to somehow get from our resort to one of the monorail resorts, take the monorail to the TTC, then to the MK. Maybe someone else can think of a better way. I like to think of myself as a knowledgeable cast member, but as a guest, I'm pretty much a beginner. I hope I can get into the mindset of a guest, instead of my usual feeling of "Oh, the wait time is too long, I'll come back tomorrow." I have to realize that I won't have a tomorrow and plan like a normal guest! AH! Sorry, just kinda thinking out loud and freaking out a little!

Ask them at the front desk, but there are buses that will take you anywhere. You can get one to the Contemporary and monorail from there, or get off at Epcot and catch the monorail there. Good Luck!

There is not direct transport between resorts.

Getting there from Epcot would involve:

1) bus from PC to epcot
2) monorail to transportation and ticket center
3) at the ttc, switch to the MK express monorail
4) arrive at MK
You are talking about an hour, maybe more of travel time. Not worth it.

The best advice I can give for what the OP wants to do is: drive to either TTC or the Contemporary and ride the monorail from there. Parking at the Contemporary would involve lying (saying you are eating at Chef Mickey's would work) and parking at TTC would involve paying for parking. Of course, if you don't have a car, those aren't an option. If you don't have a car, I would just take the bus to MK and let him ride the monorail at a different time.

Cab to TTC would probably be the quickest way, Express monorail to MK. (allow 30 minutes)

Bus to Epcot, monorail to TTC, Express monorail to MK. (allow at least 1 hour)

Bus to MGM, bus to TTC, Express monorail to MK. (allow up to 1 1/2 hours)

Bus to AK, bus to TTC, Express monorail to MK. (allow up to 1 1/2 hours)

It's hard because there are no busses that go directly from one resort to another, and no bus from Pop to TTC.

I would take a bus to Epcot, take the monorail to the TTC, and then hop the monorail to MK. That would be the most direct way to ride the monorail from Pop Century.

Can't you drive to the TTC, take the Monorail to Epcot, take the International Gateway, take a boat to MGM, take a bus to DTD, take a boat to PO, take a bus to the TTC, and take the monorail to MK ?
But you forgot to take the bus to Animal Kingdom, then take the bus back to Pop Century and start all over again.

Remember, sometimes the journey is more important that the destination.

In all seriousness resort to EPCOT to TTC to MK is the best way if you can't drive to the TTC. If possible you might want to do this on a day that EPCOT has EMH in the morning (if they even do) That way the transportation to EPCOT will be running earlier and you can still arrive at MK in time for the opening ceremony.

Wow thanks everyone. I feel stupid for being able to figure it out on my own. Also I forgot to mention we won't have a car. So I'll probably take a bus to Epcot, monorail to TTC, then Express monorail to MK! That way he will have enough monorailing to satisfy him for the whole trip. I'm so excited I could scream! I miss being there! Only 28 days!

Sounds like you have a plan. Enjoy your trip.

*and can you really get enough of the monorail? Don't forget to try to get into the front car*

Again, this may be a stupid question, but for some reason I can't remember... do you hear the spiel from the front car? He always likes listening to that on my mp3 player.

I'm pretty sure that there is not audio in the front. I remember how awkward it can be if your driver doesn't want to talk....silence.:lookaroun

Yeah, that's really strange- our driver didn't talk at all- even when we tried asking him questions.....Oh well....

Yes, there is no audio in the front. And I'd be p!ssed if the driver didn't want to talk. Come to think of it, it's happened to me, and I let someone know.

perfect plan!!! to make it even better ask to ride in the front.
you may have to wait for a couple of monorails to come by but it is worth it.
